And here's one of his appearances with the JLA. It was in JLofA #78 from 1970

He then became a member of the "Seven Soldiers of Victory" (a goup invented I believe, as an excuse for another JLA/JSA team-up) along with Star Spangled Kid & Stripsey, Shining Knight; Crimson Avenger (& Wing); Green Arrow & Speedy. BTW, this was JLA #100 (August 1972)

The Seven Soldiers of Victory (also called The Law's Legionnaires - take that LSH!) were an actual super-team whose adventures ran in Leading Comics in the '40s.

It's kind of too bad the "Law's Legionnaires" never met the LSH. Especially since they had so many "kid" members.

EDE porbably knows this but for the rest, the Eighth Soldier of Victory referred to on the JLA cover was Wing, Crimson Avengers asian kid sidekick who died saving the world somehow (I'll have to go back and read it again now.)

Unless I'm mistaken, Wing has since been retconned into an official Soldier of Victory, taking Speedy's place.

The last case of the SSOV & that JLA/JSA teamup in question were reworked in an issue of STARS & S.T.R.I.P.E. by Geoff Johns. I don't have the issue handy, so I don't recall if it was Wing or the Vigilante's sidekick Stuff that was made an official member.

Hmm... you may be right about it being Stuff who was made the "Seventh" soldier.
I wonder how much it would have complicated things just to have the Green Arrow come from the Golden Age?

They would have had to come up with a reason why Ollie Queen was still comparatively young.
They could have retconned in a GA GA that Ollie got the name from, I guess.

But that's where the time travel aspect comes in. Say he begins his career in the early 40s while in his early 20s. Then he's active for a few years, before he gets shunted through time with the rest of the SSOV, to be rescued... whenever they would be rescued in current continuity. Then he joins the JLA. One would probably have to push the rescue of the SSOV forward a little in JLA chronology so as not to drastically cut Ollie's membership, but I think it could be done.

Did anybody actually see the season's first episode? 'Initiation' or something like that was the title.
All in all I thought is what a pretty flat episode with one endearing moment at the end as it's lone saving grace. Any other thoughts?
