as soon as the Four Horseman were introduced the clock started ticking on Isis' death.

however, as other posters online pointed out, someone else could use the power. Adrianna(sp?) is gone, but perhaps down the road another power bearer will appear.

I think the clock started ticking when she was introduced... Wacker mentioned something about Adam shedding tears by the end of this story.

All that build up for the Four Horsemen, and they get torn to pieces so quickly?

two points about that last part. (1) I think Death is still around, at least according to the coming next panel at the end. (2) I think the real plan was to make the Horsemen tough enough to harm Kahndaq, and kill Isis, and Osiris. Black Adam is going to go on a rampage to avenge his nation and his family. the resulting chaos is probably exactly what Intergang wants.

No, I imagine Intergang would have preferred them to kill Black Adam as well, which would either have allowed them to take over Kahndaq, or to serve as an example for other regimes that would defy their wishes for safe passage. I suppose killing Adam's family serves as an example, but I don't think they want Black Adam alive and fighting, chaotically or otherwise.

I read 43-44, and am very upset by Osiris and Isis' death! I honestly didn't think they would intro them, make me love them, then kill them off all in a relatively short amount of time! Damn DC!

Osiris' death was especially horrific and unexpected but I think it helped take the edge off Isis' death.

Looking back, knowing what WW3 was about, and I was *still* shocked by this.

And I suspect we will be seeing another Isis in the not-too-distant future.

I'd like to see another Isis, but I really liked Adrianna.

Looking forward to this week's issue with anticipation. Hey, we haven't seen Booster in a looong time.

I still haven't figured out the mystery of 52 unless it truly is just that the multiverse is back. Can anyone help me out here?

Thanks!

you know, Black Adam is a real tool. so's the rest of the world. all of the death and destruction that was going in Khandaq and Black Adam did not seek help nor was any offered.
now he goes stomping through Biayla. and the whole world is ready to stop Black Adam.

and what's up with video screens showing hundreds of candidates for teams. Amanda Waller has one this issue, the New Avengers had one last week, and of course the JSA and the JLA had lots of photos on the table. dear comic creators, please stop this at once. it was kinda of kewl the first time, you have beaten that dead horse into a pulp.

I think writers are just tired of crafting an actual plot that involves gathering a team together for some believable reason.

Wow! The action keeps getting more intense.

I guess Black Adam will be forever known as a guy to take action from his emotions. I feel sorry for the guy. Especially since I've always felt that he's sexy as hell and am sure I could offer comfort...ha.

It seems like we're really focusing on the Intergang segment of the story. Looking forward to seeing the space heroes and their return to Earth. Which Earth?

At this point, I'm most curious about where Booster and Rip are. Skeets has them in his clutches, right?

Still so many things to be determined. I'll say it again...loving the weekly book and can't wait for Countdown.

So we now know at least two series spinning out of '52':

Well, that's two more than it looked like they had been doing, so that's something, anyway.

Somehow I don't think this will get you any more enthused, but

<span class="spoiler_containter"><span class="spoiler_wording">Click Here For A Spoiler</span><span class="spoiler_text">

There's also hints of a Black Adam series.

And some reports of a possible Great Ten series

Looking at this again when they started releasing the image in comics, I'm wondering: what's that spherical object nestled atop of the statue of liberty's torch? It's not part of the actual torch in NYC...

If so, then I think it's a bad coloring mistake that gives the impression it's right on the torch. The rest of the buildings are pushed way back

There's an outline of the sides of the building, at least that's what it looks like to me, under the dome. I think it was just mis-colored.

Just caught up with the last few weeks of 52...

Yuck! That was quite a way to go for Osiris. I never got too invested in him because I had a feeling he was a goner from the start but still, it was hard to see any character get offed like that.

I had a bad feeling Isis would get killed before this series was through too and am mondo-disappointed to see I was right - I really liked her and was looking forward to seeing her interaction with Wonder Woman.

Black Adam's one week rampage of death and destruction in Bialya was ridiculous IMO. Where were the rest of the Marvel family? The Green Lanterns? The JSA? Did they all just sit back and read about it each day in their newspapers over a cup of coffee? Michael Siglain hiding behind "red tape" as an excuse in this week's 5.2 is a very weak justification IMO.

I'm still loving 52 but I'm finding myself growing increasingly frustrated with the way they're wrapping up a lot of the storylines.

I *HATED* the resolution (or lack thereof) to the Ralph Dibny story and the only reason I'm not spewing vitriolic bile about it all over the internet about it is because Siglain said we'll see Ralph again before 52 is over and I don't want to jump the gun with my criticisms. But if the fact stays that Ralph Dibny died to temporarily hinder two characters who had had absolutely NOTHING to do with his storyline before that point and who are already free OYL thereby rendering Ralph's sacrifice pointless... mad

The Steel/Intergang story's ending was also a bit lacklustre as was the 'He's dead! No he's not! Yes he is! No he's not! Yes he is!...' ending to the Question's storyline.

I get the feeling that there is a lot of scrambling to fit the stories into the issues left at this point rather than the well plotted/structured format we had at the start of this series. The ride is still more enjoybale than 90% of the other books on the market though.

Wouldn't it be wild if 52 referred to the number of alternate universes?

But why would the Dominators say, 'Remember the 52' with that as it's meaning?

I think there's also been references to 52 missing seconds or moments in time.

what I find interesting about the Dominators always mentioning 52 is that we have yet to see any of them in 52. Lady Styx is floating around killing off various space sectors, but why would they blame earth for her?

I guess what I am worried about is that the last few weeks will shoehorn the dominators in the story in a an awkward way. time will tell.

So Black Adam goes on the rampage. And the Mad Scientists actually hold their own. Turns out brains does beat brawn.

And T.O. Morrow is a little creepy.

There's a bit between Steel and Luthor that seemed a bit out of synch with the story time line.
