Shockwave was a Blue Devil villain. He's appeared here and there since. Even has a Who's Who entry (full page).
Booster's real name is Michael Carter. * I plan to add Booster to our Who's Who pages here someday.
I don't have the issue yet to answer anything else.

Booster's real name is Michael Carter. [edit: Gary too quick]
"Sundoller" appears to be a recurring joke in 52. It's all over the 52thecomic.com web site too. It's the DCU equivalent of "Starbucks". I think it's supposed to be "Sundollar" but they probably did a trademark search before designing the fake logos and such.

Oh yeah -- for those not picking this up, there's a nice little drawing of two classic Legion lineups! (in the History of the DCU backup)

Just great! Now I have to go to the store and pick up a copy. And I'll probably grab a Legion too. I just have no will power. I should just wait until the end of the month for my next shipment.

Booster's middle name is John. They actually used it quite a bit in the original series. I remember the Legionnaires calling him by his full name when they went to hunt him down.
Skeets just called him Michael, which gives it a bit of a Knight Rider vibe, when I think about it.
Jamie Glanced through but still hasn't had a chance to read it yet.

Okay, I'm reading through Week 2 right now and have a silly question about the Question. Whose panties is he holding up? Both Montoya and her girlfriend (?) are shown wearing theirs. Is Montoya so sloppy she leaves her laundry just laying around?

Skeet skeet skeet skeet skeet...... (yes, I'm referencing a certain song where the term "skeet" means something *very* different and it's basically ruined the character for me....)

I believe it. One panel you see the side of Renee's partner's breast in shadow (lying down) and when she's up, she's wearing underwear.
Besides, how many women wear a bra to bed?

I read 52 # 1 & 2 while treadmilling just now and liked them quite a bit, more than I expected. Looking forward to this now!

Just finished week 2. Its slowly sucking me into the story....I think the reason it is taking time is that I only have a passing familiarity with many of these characters.

I read 3 and reskimmed the first two issues last night. It is playing out sort of like a weekly TV show rather that a comic. I'm kinda liking it over all. Go over to Newsarama [Spoilers] if you want to see who the new Batwoman is.

The history back-ups just aren't living up to what they could be. I thought they were going to feature *new* info about how things have changed. It's all been very familiar, so far.
Making Donna an essentially sad character is a mistake, I feel. I hope she doesn't remain isolated on New Chronus, much as I love the visual of this new HQ.

I'd agree that the history backup hasn't been that interesting so far; it seems a bit drawn out. More like a cast of characters, without fully identifying the characters - the previous History of the DCU (TPB) was similar.
I'm glad that Renée won't be made into the new Batwoman. It's good to have some non-powered key characters around.
My concern for this series is that it will be overfilled with characters and shortchange the plot - everyone gets 15 panels of fame. From what DiDio said at newsarama, it appears that 52 is something of a testing ground for future series - who's popular, who's not.

Question about issue #3:
Click Here For A SpoilerThe body of Lex Luthor that was found in the alley was Alexander Luthor from Crisis, right? If so, shouldn't half of his face have been disfigured from the acid Joker splashed on his face in IC#7?
Also, unless they are rebooting the DCU somewhat, I am a little disappointed that they've reverted Booster Gold to his money grubbing corporate sponsorship mentality of his initial appearance in the DCU. The character had grown alot over the years, but now in a single issue seems to have reverted back to his old ways.
I'm also a little disappointed in the History backup. I thought it was going to flesh out some details of the New Earth's timeline, but in two issues all it seems to be doing is rehashing Pre-Crisis continuity, which seems a little strange to me and probably confusing to newer readers. I'm assuming they're going somewhere with it, but since all of this was covered in the prestige HOTDCU, this seems a bit redundant.

He likes being a rich and famous big shot. He's been knocked down from that perch (repeatedly) but always tries to get back up on it. Doesn't mean he's not a hero; he's also always been a guy who does the right thing, and that's still true too.

Got issue #3 and loving it still.
Terra Man is a character I've only discovered in recent months and kinda liked, but I'm more like Eryk--the new Terra Man (whose only appeared once post-Crisis) didn't have quite the same charm as the original.
Liked seeing Power Girl.
Black Adam is one of DC's coolest characters since his JSA appearances, and that continues here.
I figure that Lex has spent weeks 1-2 fixing up Alex's body to make it look like his own, so that's why we don't see the scarred Alexander.
Given that the direction this series is supposed to go in is still relatively a mystery, I'm curious to see if Steel's story (and the others) will directly involve Lex (and the Joker) the entire time.
I've always loved Montoya but I really can't wait to see her get past this drunk/sleeping around stage. I'm also glad the new Batwoman won't be her, as like FC I want to see a non-super hero main character.
The Mr. Mind panel was probably the coolest one of the issue too. I really can't wait to see more of that.
Looking forward to Rip Hunter and the new Chinese super-team created by Morrison!

Re: History of the DCU. Meh. Unlike a lot of LW, I wasn't really as excited for this as I was the main story, so I'm not as letdown. But I hear where you're all coming from.

I think the whole point of the "History" and big objective of IC is to have our heroes remember the multiverse. It existed, it went away during COIE, but it is okay to remember it. This seems laudable, if a bit confusing to me. However, it seems pretty important to the storytellers. Power Girl's existence now depends on it, for instance. As for lack of revelations -- sheesh, it's only been 3 issues of a 52-issue series. They can't shoot the whole wad at the start.
...but you don't have a moment where you're sitting there staring at a table full of twenty-five characters with little name signs that say, "Hi, my superpower is confusing you!"
