Got a working copy of it made last night. I'll pop it in the mail as soon as I have time, maybe this weekend.
Vee, just let me know if you'd like a copy too. Just PM or e-mail me your address if you do.

Re:#150 It was kinda anti-climactic for me. After the big reveal of Xorn/Magneto and the destruction in New York, things kinda meandered with Magneto walking around bickering with the "special class" students and getting high and the rest of the team removed from the action. Then they all come back and beat him in a fairly straight forward battle.
I liked the notion that Magneto as a man failed to live up to the legend and that he was out of touch with the newer generation of mutants, but the two notable deaths here didn't really do much for me dramatically (besides, how long do we really expect them to last at this point?).

Icey, we got buried in a blizzard yesterday so I didn't get out to the P.O. today. I'll drop the disc in the mail on Monday. If I can get dug out by then.

Its on its way to Tennessee. You should have it by Monday if the P.O. is caught up from the Christmas rush.
I know the DVD works perfectly on my DVD player so I hope yours will recognize it too.
And now that SoM has turned me on to DirectConnect I'm planning on doing a bunch of CD-R's with different eras of the Legion. If it works I'll make copies for anyone who wants.

Oh, I should add the above Legion CD-R's will not be the 'live' action ones like The Ultimates but will be comics you can read on your computer using CDisplay. You can find a copy of the program here .

So, that's it? Jean's dead? AGAIN? And Wolverine kills Magneto? Again?
As far as I'm concerned, I hope this means the end of Jean for some time. She should never have been brought back, and since then no one has known what to do with her. Now, she's been split from Scott after finally marrying him in a beautiful story that finally got them together after having been through so much. And now she's dead. Again. Whether she's dead forever or brought back in the next storyline, I don't want to see anymore Phoenix stories or Wolverine/Scott/Jean love triangles ever again.
And Emma may be off the team now, but all I can say is 'oh well'. I really was starting to like Emma and how she began to love Scott, but I can't see Scott with Emma after Jean dying like that.
Morrison's finest achievement IMO was the creation of Esme, Angel, Dust and a few other young mutants. Beak is a bit annoying and just asking to be killed by another creator, but the others were good. Esme especially, and the way she gradually changed over the course of the series.
I hope the X-Men are 'fixed up' a bit with the new team. If Jean is left dead and Emma is gone, I say reorganize the three X-Men teams into two good set teams, unless someone can think of something better to do. And make them wear their costumes again. And start moving in a direction that stays away from the Phoenix, the Sentinels and Magneto being resurrected. Just please don't alienate the fans any further.

Very well put Cobie, I would like to see Alex, Polaris, Iceman, Dazzler, Cannonball, Magma, Sabra and Snspot get some good panel time. I also think that Dust is a way cool character!

I've heard that in their next go-round they will indeed be wearing superhero type costumes. I didn't mind the leather thing so much, but it looked odd anytime they did a crossover with the regular Marvel U.
And Beast needs to get back to his old look -- the lion thing just looks crappy, mainly because he seems too bulky and no longer capable of his trademark agility (especially those feet).

Agreed, Drake...the lion didn't even make sense to me at all. Due to Hank's original look, I always thought of him as more of a gorilla or big ape-type mutant... As for who I'd want on the various teams, I don't know, but I'll tell you who I *DON'T* want on them: Cyclops and Emma - Don't like that couple, but let'em run off together and get out of the way. Otherwise, there'll be lots and lots of whining about Jean's death, that will get in the way of the stories. Besides, Scott already did that after Dark Phoenix, so it wouldn't be new ground at all. Wolverine - Blasphemy, perhaps, but I say keep him in his own book. Nothing irritates me more (as someone who likes to read the adventures of the characters in chronological order) to have Logan be in Madripoor in his own book, out in space in New, just hanging out in Uncanny, etc.. Keep him in one place, for crying out loud! Professor Xavier - He's often been compared to Martin Luther King, but King's dream was always more potent because others carried on his work after his demise. It's time to kill off Chuck. Other than that, as long as Jubilee's in the books, I'll be happy! Oh, that, and not driving Lorna insane every other month, because that really ticks me off! By the way, Lighting Lad, I'd be interested in a set of those Legion CD-R discs...

Pex, I agree with a lot of what you say. Either Cyclops or the Prof. needs to leave the book, and Jean needs to stay out of it. Otherwise I feel like I'm reading the same thing over and over again.

I plan on making separate disks for each volume and mini's/specials.

Thanks Icey, you don't need to do that. Just glad you enjoyed it.
Anthony, I'll add you to the list. As soon as I get all the books done (now about 10 issues away from the regular appearances) I'll let everyone know and we'll start arranging what to do next.

I appreciate it Vee. As soon as I can dig out my Adventure box I'll let you know. I know I have some dupes of Adventure and Action, possibly Superboy as well, so I'd be happy to trade.
I really need to update my needs list. I've gotten carried away lately getting everything electronically so I really don't know where my actual collection stands.

Ok, I just finished Planet X (what can I say? I'm a TPB reader), as well as the rest of Grant's run (excepting "Here Comes Tomorrow") and I have to say, I have no idea what you're all talking about. I love Grant's run, and I think it's miles ahead of any other mainstream superhero book.
Seriously, what's so wrong with his run? Sure, it's not in any way perfect, but it's damn good, IMO. We get a nice mix of old and new concepts, some interesting takes on existing characters (which don't invalidate their history), as well as some great new ones (I love the remedial class and the Cuckoos, and I don't see how they're all insane). It's got interesting subplots that actually get resolved in a reasonable amount of time (and yes, Magneto as Xorn was planned since the beginning; the clues where present since his first appearance),as well as some interesting plots THAT ACTUALLY HAD TO DO WITH THE FRANCHISES PREMISE! Seriously, what makes Grant worse than any other writer out there?

I don't think I would've minded Morrison so much, if Quitely hadn't been with him. Tainted the whole thing, for me... Then there's the occasional little glaring slip-up, like in "E Is For Extinction" when Wolverine blames Chuck for his yellow tights. Wolvy was wearing those in his first appearance, before he'd even heard of the X-Men! LOL I guess it's had its ups and downs, just like most any other era, and I'm sure the next wave will be no different in that regard...

Is it just me (probably...) or does anyone else agree that the premise that no-one suspected Xorn was Magneto was shockingly poor! Whether it was planned or not doesn't mean it has any redeemable qualities IMO...
And Jeans death was badly done too....
Killing Genosha was grrrreat though wasn't it! I did enjoy that part of Morrison's run....

Heh, I don't know, Xorn actually had me fooled (though it's possible I wasn't paying close enough attention...). I actually cried when they revealed Xorn was Mags, because I liked Xorn as he appeared to be at first...

I liked him too, but in the TPB of E for Evolution they kinda gave it away so I was smart to it (or at least very suspicious) after that....
Jean's death really sucked though didn't it
