Like Magneto was actually Xorn all along and no-one recognised him, no-one thought "oh look that this new person is the same size/ build/ basic powers of our virtually impossible to kill arch enemy who may or may not be dead right now"

And then Mag's rips New York apart - like f*ck off already! No Avengers, Fantastic Four, Spidey man, law abiding everyday mutant, random alien, Wolfpack etc in residence to put up any resistance.

And how did the toad get there?

All I can say is I'm glad Alan bought this and not me.

IMO Grant Morrison is one of the worst writers for Marvel to employ as he often gets stuck up his own backside chasing his own cleverness and doesn't take any other factors - like the other 60 odd marvel comics set in the same place - into account.

Maybe if this was taking place in a seperate "universe" it would work but it just fails on so many levels within the established MU.

The art was alright but loads of padding splash pages ruined any chance of engaging intelligence while reading it.

3 out of 100 from me.

How many things Do I not like about the current X-Men

1. All new characters are either crazy or very mutated looking

2. The mutation of BEAST into a rodent

3.How many times are we going to have Magneto almost ready to destroy humanity

4. Charles Xavier I can walk I can't walk syndrome

5. Wolverine as a member of every team

6. The mistreatment of classic characters such as Polaris, Darkstar Rogue and Gambit

7. Every Villian must join the team Emma Frost, Sage, Juggernaut

8. The Mansion destroyed Again

9. The lack of all the other Heroes and Villians When Magneto is destroying the city

10. Grant Morrison PLEASE give this title up.

I loved Morrisons Authority but tHis just SUCKS!!!!

I can't really call myself a Morrison fan. I didn't care for his Justice League stories at all, and I haven't been THAT impressed with his X-Men stories either.

In all fairness, though, I haven't really cared for much about the X-Men since just after the Shadow King storyline.

Me too Princess and she could have been such a great character given the chance to shine they could have at least put her on the X-treme Team!

One's going to die?

Cyclops' death works for me, if they kept him dead for more than a week or two. laugh

My moneys on either Jean Grey (again hahaha) or Charlie Xavier.

I thought Emmas "murder" was poorly handled, though the scenes with Hank listing the reasons to like her were very touching. IMO The only XMan who seems to be keeping to character is Hank, pity, as Icey said above, Morrison has turned him into vermin.

Run away with ME, 'Bing-- I haven't been able to stomach the X-Men proper since Claremont's return around the time of the first movie.

"Oooh, the movie did GREAT!! Let's shit on the last 35+ years of continuity and make the books JUST LIKE it!!" mad

The last time I touched either X-MEN or UNCANNY was to see how badly they butchered the death of Colossus... mad scream mad

I also can't accept the casual deaths of long standing characters

Colossus
Psylocke
Darkstar
Maggot
Skin

and others are treated like discarded trash!!!!

Or long-standing characters written like total idiots or just used as a plot device by being tortured/kidnapped/etc:

Banshee
Polaris
Dazzler
Magma
Generation Xers: Synch and Skin
and half a dozen other great characters

Wow! I'm glad to find others who thinks Morrisons X-Men stinks. He's one of those writers that does either really good or really bad work and his X-Men is without doubt on the really bad side.

I had heard that Synch had die, but I didn't realize that Darkstar and Skin were dead also.

That's too bad.

Did Synch die in a "New X-Men" issue? I missed that. It kinda bothered me that they never showed Iceman's reaction to Darkstar's death, but I guess Morrison didn't know about them.

I don't have any bad feelings about his X-Men run, but I don't see what the big deal is either. It's been ok, but nothing to write home about, imo. From re-reading the past issues with Xorn, it doesn't seem to me that he planned this all along. I think the idea started showing itself during "Riot at Xavier's" but not before.
