OK, a bit of shameless plugging, but I'm tired of sports stories getting all the page views.

I wrote a story about all-ages comics for The Detroit News. If this is a topic that interests you, please click over to it .

It's mostly a list of titles out there worth checking out. Of course, it's woefully short. I know there were several I just didn't have room to include ("Bone," "Tellos," "Alison Dare," "Patrick the Wolf Boy," "Leave It to Chance" to name but a few), but I wanted to get a good mix of stuff in a limited amount of print space.

Thoughts?

Interesting article, Seymour.

It's good to know that publishers are stepping up efforts to bring in the next generation of comics readers. It was also nice to see LSH in the 31st Century get the first mention.

Most people probably know about Archie (widely available) and Disney comics for kids, so hopefully people will check out the smaller publishers' works that you covered. It was a good, varied selection.

Was there a reason you didn't mention prices? I don't read book reviews for kids, but the adult reviews usually give the retail price for the books. I've often wondered if the price of comics is too high for most parents to shell out for their kids.

I sneak in my Legion plugs where I can, HWH. smile

As for prices, I didn't mention them because there would be too many. Some of the books are available as individual issues AND trades, and even trades can vary in price from release to release in a series. And, a couple in there are older titles that may be in a store's bargain bin. Plus, I knew price would turn some people off on some of those books (they have for me), so I was kind of hoping I'd get people to the store where they'd just say, "I came all the way down here, I might as well ..."
