It's hard to believe Mon-El's origin was told in just 19 pages. All in one shot -- boom. Superboy even had time to take a trip back in time to ancient Egypt for absolutely no reason.
I am a big fan of giving stories room to breathe, but occasionally I start to feel annoyed that I have to wait 4 months just to find the answer to a simple question. Even though I enjoyed this issue, it just felt like a continuation of the situation in the first issue...just different illusions. It kind of felt like issue #1.5

I really enjoyed JSA Classified #2. It was confusing but in a totally good way and Jimmy made me laugh out loud. ^_^ I'm curious to see where the story goes next and the Legion guest spot was rockin'!!
I'm just happy with the status of things overall. Yay~

I get what you're saying SouthtwonKid but I think we deserve an extended story that is devoted to Karen and takes the time to explore her character. After the Hell she's been put through post-Crisis (especially in the '90's.), she deserves it.
Plus, it's nice to see some sort of emotion from other besides being angry/bitchy for once.

Man, is Amanda Conner cute or what?: Here\'s the interview over on Newsarama I pulled the pic from...

Jamie Yeah, I don't mind an expanded story, I just kind of felt like this was a repeat of the first issue. Other than a couple pages of the talk with Superman, it just felt like nothing moved forward. It was cool seeing the Legionnaires, real or not, but she fought phantoms only she could see last issue. To use the Mon-El example again, it would be as if they had played 2 games of outer space baseball with petrified trees and meteors. Why? Eh, I'm probably just being cranky. I do have to say I really think Conner did a great job with Power Girl's facial expressions; in my opinion, the stongest part of the issue.

Yup. It's nice to know that she HAS expressions.
I didn't think I would like her work on PG but after the first few pages of the first issue I was too busy drooling to care.
They fit together well. Amanda Conner's pencils bring a quirkiness that has been lacking from PG for a long time.

Read JSAC #2 already and its great seeing the Legion interact with the 21st century, though I have to admit to some hesitation since changes in the 21st century had affected the Legion adversely in the past.
I'm not sure though what role the Psycho Pirate plays here. Ok, he's makin PG go through hell, but his ability to call the LSH into action, and the reimagined LSH at that, seems like he's not just aware of the past of the multiverse but likewise its future.
I was thinkin the LSH was being an ass for not letting PG do the rescue but I realized it's a case of them seeing there wasn't anything there at all. That makes me think it's the real LSH, and I'm eager to see if the explanation behind PG's origin is has links to our current LSH.

What was nice about the issue was PG meeting up with Superman and sort-of letting some demons go. Even though we know that PG's uniform was drawn that way to show off her cup D's, Johns' ability to add some emotional resonance to how PG felt about that hole in her costume was truly heart-rending.

I'm thinking that this either isn't "our" Legion or that it's not a Legion at all. They could be some sort of dopplegangers created by the Psycho-Pirate.

Interesting notion, Dan...except that the LL, Cos and SG that Power Girl is fighting all look as if they belong in the post-CRISIS, pre-ZERO HOUR era...How would Psycho Pirate have any knowledge of this "anomaly"? Unless he was telepathically in tune with Dr. Psycho at the time of the Team 20 story arc.
But that wouldn't explain Garth's appearence, since he wasn't among the Legion group who stranded in the past.

The legion in the story are obviously constructs. Psycho pirate is using the Medusa Mask to create them.
I think he knows more than just the multiverse, in the story that introduced this power, he learned he was a comic book character.

Well he's always had the mask, but the power seen in this story was first seen in Grant Morrison's ANimal man. It was the end of GM's term as writer around issue 20-25 I think.

I have just seen an issue of Justice League Unlimited with a Cadmus created clone of Supergirl, dressed in a Power Girl costume and exhibiting the same sort of powers.
So here's a thought, maybe the idea behind the JLU story, ie the creation of a super team of clones to protect the human race against the Justice League, is what this Power Girl origin is leading to?

So are we to assume that Psycho Pirate created that ring the Checkmate guys found? Or could it be that the ring is real, just not a Legion flight ring? What else could it be? The Flash's(Barry Allen) ring??

Yes!! She's really a speedster!! That's it!! Or maybe it's a Green Lantern ring. She's really long-lost member of the Corps. Or, gasp, what if it's a yellow power ring...? Okay, seriously, I have faith that it'll all make sense in the end. But I have nooo idea how we're gonna get there.

Holy crap! I totally forgot that PP was the only person to remember Crisis on Infinite Earths. I di not make the connection until reading this thread. That completely blindsided me. So she has to be from another earth or time! Right? So confused, but I am enjoying it. So she could be this lost in time/time traveling hero from Infinite Crisis I would think. I do like how they are exploring different sides to PG, I just wish it was a little mpre in depth. Again, where is this going?????
I just can't BLOK it out!

JSA CLASSIFIED #3's out...

... and 'poor Karen' is all I can say. That sequence of the increasing multitude of characters foisting their version of her beginnings upon her was quite effective. No wonder she appears 'broken'. I imagine Psycho Pirate has cackled his success too quickly, however. With one issue to go, I'm more than ready to see Power Girl bust out (snicker) and succeed at something. I hope this four-parter has an actual conclusion, but I'm suspicious that it'll bleed into INFINITE CRISIS. That seems to be DC's tactic of the season.
Loved the facial expressions Amanda Conner gave to Huntress during her scene with PG.
Hmmm. If Donna Troy's this Crisis's Harbinger, is PG the new Pariah?

I would say that the analogy that most fits is Power Girl is the this Crisis' Lady Quark.
