No offense on my part, Kid. I agree with about 99.8% of your post!

Hers something about me you don't know. The origin of icefire: I wrote a fan-fic of the DC universe in a crisis like tale Celsius was a member of the JlA then when there headquarters was destroyed she was rescued by Nemesis Kid and well they had a moment and a few months later came icefire.

Golly! Instead of being Byrned out, someone(s) should start a Doom Patrol: The Series!

Back on the old DC DP board, I started a "create your OWN DP" thread that saw some action. Robotwoman, a 70-year old senior citizen whose mind was placed in a voluptuous robot body, eventually found her way to the Light Brigade. My teleporting sneak-attack specialist THE SNATCH earned some praise from the DP board regulars. One guy said I should be careful because Grant Morrison would steal that idea.

I recently joined the DCMBs as Misty Delight and visited this Light Brigade forum I've heard y'all talk about. I saw some posts by Pov, Cobie, and EDE but nothing seemed recent.
The Snatch is a stroke of genius. Imagine if Geoff Johns, reknowned for incorporating all eras of a team's history into new and interesting stories, got a hold of DP. *dreamy sigh*
Oh, and Coipel as artist... *swoons*

If I could, I'd have Geoff writing MOST of DC's team books! (not LEGION)

I love the DP, but the new series is boring me to tears. I've dropped it.
(But I am considering buying the recently-released Vertigo DP TPBs...)

They're worth it, if you don't have the issues.

I tried the JLA Arc and the first issues of the title. I dropped it after issue 4.
I like the Doom Patrol, and I was rather excited by the reboot. Now I'll go back to the archives, the Morrisson reprints and the few back-issues I own(some from the 60's, some from the 80s).

I did it again..I picked up the latest issue. Would someone please slap the crap out of me. I hate the story moving along and then we flash back hours later to learn why the group is doing the mission...AHHH insanity.
I think thats it for me..heck even the characters are leaving..Faith said good-bye to the group.
Looking for Earth Prime.

Interesting.
I wonder if she'll end up back in the JLA or if she's heading off to comic-book limbo.
Sales for Sept. showed that sales are still declining, but not as rapidly as they had been before.

Think it might be happening soon. The friend of mine who gets it was pretty upset with 5 (and our constant arguement is about Byrne).
He had problems were with the sub robot wars plot, but the breaker for him was following this book from JLA and finding out, in the text, that Nudge is meant to be Korean. While Byrne's self-acknowledged weakness for defining face doesn't usually phase him the fact he couldn't tell this from 4 JLA & 5 DP issues of artwork does mean he's over the book.

Well, there was no mention of Doom Patrol in teh full DC panel at WWDallas, headed by Bob Wayne and Dan Didio... and it WAS announced that Byrne was working (art ONLY! ) on an upcoming DEMON mini. Sounds dead to me.

Byrne is plotting and pencilling Blood of the Demon. Will Pfieffer will be handling the dialogue. Just curious POV, did the panel mention every single superhero book DC is publishing except Doom Patrol? My impression is that they usually only have time to discuss upcoming projects and events, not those already underway. They were pretty comprehensive with their overview. Admittedly, they concentrated on projects DC was genuinely excited about , but c'mon... even AQUAMAN got some facetime! DOOM PATROL was very conspicuous by its absence. Sounds like they threw away the last 20 years for naught but Byrne's ego and inability to accomodate his betters.

Besides the no-brainers like Supes, Bats, JLA, JSA, ID Crisis, and the new Legion? Green Lantern, Green Arrow, Aquaman, as I mentioned, Manhunter, Bloodhound, Firestorm, Wonder Woman, Birds of Prey, Nightwing: Y1, The Demon, Hawkman, Deadshot, Flash, Teen Titans, The Question, even the Johnny DC line was mentioned.

From the looks of things, not much new news about these titles were covered: http://www.newsarama.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=21059 Yet, shame on DC for not talking about Doom Patrol! Grrr.. Besides Doom Patrol and Blood of the Demon, Byrne has an upcoming arc in JLA:Classified (with writer Roger Stern) and I wouldn't be suprised if there were many other projects coalescing for Byrne at DC. My impression is that they really trust Byrne. Else why would they want to work with him so extensively?

Well, like it or not, the guy has moved some paper in his day. That may be coming to an end, but if he stays on DP, and it stays decent, i will be buying. Not cause i love him, but because i love DP. It would really have to sink to Pollock levels for me to dump it. And believe me, that was traumatic enough for me, lol.
Damn you, you kids! Get off my lawn or I'm callin' tha cops!
