Hey, I read awhile back that Joss Whedon was going to do Buffy - season 8 in comic book form. Does anyone know if/when this is still going to come out? Thanks!

Cool. I've heard this elsewhere as well. Too bad that "Ripper" series in England with Giles never materialized.

I know. That and the animated Buffy series. But I'll settle for an official comic continuation with the beginning scripted by Whedon.

I want Buffy back! But I guess I'll settle for a comic book. Surely as another couple of years go by, everyone could find the time for a Buffy movie?

Hey, I was doing some looking around and found a mini-series (in comic form) called "Angel: The Curse." This was supposed to have taken place after Angel's TV show. Does anyone know if this is canon? Also, is it worth reading? Thanks!

I don't know if the IDW stuff is 'canon' or not. However, it could be because everything that happened in "The Curse" was very vague as to the fate of everyone after "Not Fade Away" (Angel's last episode). Angel's by himself and looking to have his curse lifted in Romania, at least the part about what happens when he achieves "true happiness".

It's very standalone and probably won't satisfy what you're looking for as far as story advancement. It's a decent enough story but not worth the hefty $3.99 cover price. And the ending regarding his quest is pretty predictable.

I haven't read the follow-up mini yet ("Old Friends", I think?). It supposedly gives some details about the other characters, but I'm skeptical. I'll let you know when I get around to reading it.

I would say the best IDW/Buffyverse stuff are the Spike specials and minis. They shy away from post-"Fade" revelations, too, but are more entertaining.

Hope that helps!

I really haven't seen anything that makes me believe this is going to be a reality. I can't find anything on Dark Horse's website about it...

Maybe in late February everyone can just come over to my house and we'll have a Buffy-a-thon. I have all 7 seasons, so it would take just...um...144 episodes at about 45 minutes per episode = 108 hours, which is 4.5 days. Wow! Nonstop Buffy for 4.5 days would equal one comatose Lance. (Although I do like the sound of Lance's Buffycon!)

Sleep? Who's going to sleep? My wife will have given birth to child number 3 by then and we'll have non-stop Buffy! Sleep! Haha! Kudos to Lash for the Trisquits, though - gonna need a lot of cheese spread...

I'm down with the EZ cheese, myself. Wouldn't it be fun to watch the whole series with a bunch of people who loved it? Oh, and maybe a few open minds who haven't seen it before...

This was on (one of) the cover(s) of the current PREVIEWS. Gotta e-mail my CBS and get them to add it to the pull.

Whedon's been talking and MTV was listening.

Click Here For A Spoiler* Buffy and The Immortal were never an item. In fact, Buffy may never have been to Italy. The blonde girl Angel and Spike glimpsed partying in that hilarious Rome episode was a double and a decoy!

* Buffy now oversees 10 squads of young women comprising 500 slayers.

* Anya Jenkins, who died at the end of season seven, is back (if not precisely back from the dead).

* Dawn Summers reaches “ginormic proportions” as a byproduct of losing her virginity.

* Xander Harris now leads slayer central command in Scotland.

* The U.S. government, perhaps believing Buffy responsible for Sunnydale’s destruction, has labeled her army of slayers a terrorist group.

Whedon has said the series will go 25 - 30 issues. Whether or not it will continue after that is anyone's guess.
