Wow, the shiny just doesn't work. It makes him look like a cheap knock off of Commander Steel (from the distinguished competition). I kinda like the black parts tho.
I'm okay with the gun, particularly if this version of Cap doesn't have a heap of super-powers, although I'd prefer a staff or something (taser-fied, for extra kick). Then again, I'd prefer a female Cap, at least until the real one comes back. Diamondback would be an interesting choice, as we'd get to see her wrestle with the pressures of trying to fill boots that nobody could possibly fill...
I wonder if USAgent is still alive. I missed out on the Omega Flight thing, so I have no idea if he could feasibly be the man behind the shield. (Seems unlikely, the current guard at Marvel loathes any established character or continuity, preferring to create brand-new characters that are as quickly abandoned when they fail to 'stick,' like Echo/Ronin/that-chick-who-was-an-Avenger-for-2-years-without-actually-showing-up-to-one-of-the-annual-fight-scenes.)

I'm ok with the gun. Don't like the black. Not a huge fan of the shiny stuff but as DrakeB3004 said the black may make it stand out more. With all the recent alternate Cap costumes I've seen lately I'm suprised this made the cut. I guess it's the only way they would get Alex Ross covers.

Bucky isn't against using a gun, I could see him being the new Cap...

A gun and hunting knife? So, does this mean Frank Castle is going to be the new Cap? Hate the suit, hate the additions of weapons beyond the shield. Definitely not a Cap worth reading, to me. I'll just wait for the inevitable return of Steve Rogers.

Frank gave the mask to Bucky in the Punisher War Journal series, so my money's on him. But, when it comes to Bru's stories, I never seem to guess it right. Either way, I'm sticking with the book. I love Brubaker and the stories he creates. Like, whoa.

I'm sure it won't be the Punisher.
Like Cali, I trust Bru. This is still the best series Marvel is putting out, in my top 5 in all comics (as good as Fables even). It'll be a great, great storyline, I'm sure.
Still positive its not the Punisher though.

/slightly off-topic UNION JACK!!! Ohmigod, I him. Man. Now there's a guy I'd love to see in his own comic. Like, whoa. The mini that spun out of his appearance in Bru's Cap was awesome! /slightly off-topic

Although I'll most likely pick up the next HC collection. The 25 issue omnibus just released is one of my favorite collections this year.

/slightly off-topicUnion Jack's previous mini by (the great) John Cassaday was also pretty awesome. It was vampire-centric and was a more personal story involving the Union Jack legacy. I'm sssoooooo glad he's no longer part of that whole Pendragon business - it nearly ruined the character. Btw, I'm not suggesting UJ might be the new Cap, just that it's possible to have a gun and knife and not be a blood thirsty killer.

Bru makes a similar comment on the latest Newsarama interview.
I'm not a fan of Cap, or the chrome head piece. But to each his own.
Just spouting off.

The gun and knife don't bother. I'm a bigger Union Jack fan than Captain America. UJ is not a super soldier he's an every man. Wouldn't mind the new Cap being the same thing.
If it's Bucky I probably won't read it. I'm still mad about Bucky being alive AND killing off Nomad.

Hey-- I was dressed up as Garrison Hearst. I had to be in character! And Actor Lad doesn't mind my fangirl ways. It's how I won him over, actually..

Another great issue that I finally got caught up on. I like how the Bucky dream sequences sometimes felt like the old Steranko issues at the end tail-end of 'Tales of Suspsense'.

It just gets better issue after issue.
That's one great action sequence Bru & Epting gave us this month, isn't it?
And I love how Epting is drawing Natasha's hair longer in each issue. Hopefully the editors will continue to let it slide, and other artists will copy it, until it's the standard look for her.

My bet's on three or six... preferably three.

Let's be honest here - it's three. One has his own book, four is a "just no" for obvious reasons, five's already been teased and rejected, and two and six have either not appeared or barely appeared in the book (and explain how it makes sense for six to take on the "Captain AMERICA" mantle...)
