They're not getting all my money with *this* event. Definitely going to check out Creeper, Shazam and most especially uncle Sam/FF.
Pass on the rest.

Pov, If you haven't seen it yet, here is a link: http://www.comicbookresources.com/news/newsitem.cgi?id=6993 On second thought, better not to look. Pillar of salt and all that.
...but you don't have a moment where you're sitting there staring at a table full of twenty-five characters with little name signs that say, "Hi, my superpower is confusing you!"

Phantom Lady: I'm single...and I have a curvature of the spine.
Damn, that's ugly art. Looks like Jim Balent with greasy coloring. Spines don't bend that way. And what exactly is her expression there? Some sucked-in cheek attempt at sexiness? Did she step in dog crap?
Atom is woot for Gail Simone, wince for Byrne. Is it me, or does his face in the bottom panel look strangely Liefeldian?

I think that the Phantom Lady is being shown from a side angle with her hip jutting to the right side. That's at least how it looks to me.
I agree with the Atom assessment. His jaw looks way out of alignment....

No, that can't be it. Trying to get as close as possible to her posistion, you lean back and twist to the side so you sort of have your ribcage on your hips. It's not any kind of natural posistion, and not the slightest bit comfortable. Even then, there should be skin folds in her torso, because the skin scrunches up no matter how skinny you are. As it is in the art, that right-angle pose isn't happening without the aid of a hammer.
Man, I feel sorry for her. As those nipples that apparently had to be there tell us, she's not wearing a bra. She's going to get a black eye every time she jumps. Most women I know (who don't even approach that cup size) aren't that stupid. Maybe they have helium in them.

Yeah, J'onn is getting a new look! Didio all but confirmed it, and the splash at the end of IC #7 shows it.
Just spouting off.

Actually, that new look makes me think that is NOT a silouette of the Monitor on BNW but of J'onn.

I was thinking the same thing, Jamie. That or J'onn takes on a role similar to that of the Monitor.

So... anyone pick this up?
I did, but I'm not sure I'm feeling really inspired to pick up any of the series that are spinning out of it.
And I'm not really sure what to think about the last page.

I have no idea where they're going with that whole last page reveal.
I thought that US & the FF looked pretty good. But I was going to pick that up based on the writing team.
The art on Trials of Shazam looked good, not sure about the premise. Creeper looked okay though i dont care for the character. These may get picked up in TPB if the buzz is good.
Martian Manhunter, OMAC and All-New Atom are definite nos.

I note also that most of those worlds are represented among the Brave New World titles. Earth-1: Creeper/OMAC Earth-2: Martian Manhunter (trust me on this one) Earth-S: Trials of Shazam. Earth-X: Uncle Sam & the FF. Earth-Whatever-Charlton's-number-was: Umm... Well, the new Atom is Asian and his costume looks a lot like Judo-Master's.

I picked this up and liked it well enough. There wasn't enough of a story to some of the parts to really make a decision but others seemed really good. 1) Creeper: I've never been a fan but this preview made him seem pretty invteresting. Not likely to add this to my pull list but I'll probably check in every once in a while to see where it's going; 2) Martian Manhunter: Click Here For A SpoilerThere are other Martians?!!!! What exactly have they been doing all this time? I may give this a trial. 3) OMAC: Like others, I've had about enough of them. If this is the wrap up, then I want it to really wrap up! Click Here For A SpoilerI really hope that the OMACs don't become the "Green Lantern Corp" for the Monitors. 4) Freedom Fighters: Yeah! Click Here For A SpoilerUncle Sam is back! And I suspect he's got a huge bone to pick with the Freedom Force wanna bes! Not sure I like the new Firebrand but this preview actually improved my perception of him. I'll definitely be picking this up. I still have high hopes that we'll see the real Ray back in this title. 5) Shazam: I really did not like where this is going. Click Here For A SpoilerBoth Freddie and Mary could well be dead at the end of this preview! There better be miraculous recoveries for both or DC is going to have a very upset Vee to deal with! 6) Atom: This was pretty funny. Great assortment of oddball scientiest/colleagues. Click Here For A SpoilerAnd I think that mysterious figure in the shadows at the end of this preview was good old Ray Palmer! It will be interesting to see where this goes if I'm right

Newsarama has an article about the return of Click Here For A Spoilerthe Monitor and promises more in an interview with DiDio tomorrow.

Of the six featurettes, only two were intersting for me: The Creeper and Cap Marvel.
The Creeper looked great, Justiniano never lets me down. I'm not too familair with Niles' work, but his reputation as a horror writer piqued my curiosity. The story didn't grab me tho' and I'm a little leary about picking up the new book. I don't mind the reboot to the character, but I don't see what's creepy about him. He's just another vigilante, with a cackling laugh.
The Cap Marvel bit looked damn fine! Porter's work here is something to oogle. The sort of painted look works well with the sort of dated property that Cap is. I don't know how well it works to ground him in modern DCU, but it is eye appealing.
Winnick's writing is so-so. I'm not keen on a full year of it, but they've got me for the first two issues of the mini.
Overall, this book didn't succeed with me. I'm less excited about the two upcoming titles than I was before reading it.
Just spouting off.

So wait, concerning the Monitor...consequently, must not an equal and opposing force arise as a balance: the Anti-Monitor? Could *this* lead into the return of the Anti-Monitor? Is that very thought exhausting to some? Haven't bought this yet, but will!

One, Cobie? Try five!
Barring the FF story, most of these books did nothing for me. The art on OMAC was quite good tho.
