Perhaps we should have 'booted to THAT continuity?
We had cool mod-updates on the Adventure-era costumes, plus by the end we had a Legion that covered most of the various eras.
The only negative would be no Colossal Boy.

Hee! It was good...
Except that part where Gim died. I didn't like that. Watching him and Dirk hit on chicks was the best!! Oh, Colossal Boy... how enticing of a codename...
Er, yes. But wasn't Projectra still a snake? Or am I thinking of the wrong thing..? (I'm not really a fan of the snake thing. Like, at all. At alllll, at all.)

It *was* implied that she wasn't what she seemed (and in fact a faint image of Snakejectra surrounds Jeckie in that panel) but one can argue that that was merely a taunt used in an attempt to wig her or her teammates out.
Yeah, loved hittin'-on-chicks Dirk & Gim too.
Plus Chuck gets to save the day not once but twice, disproving any theory that his powers are useless and showing (just like in the Silver Age) that in the hands of a capable writer, ANY power can be super!

Superboy's Legion was easily the best Legion in recent years!
Wish they'd do a sequel...

One of the most memorable parts of Superboy's Legion was the introduction of Ferro Lad's magic-immunity.

I've never been able to find the first issue of this series, but I loved the second issue. Princess Tinya was especially memorable.
The only character I didn't like was the barely articulate Cham.

I was also annoyed at the very notion of Colossal Boy fighting Validus. I mean... I don't care that you're the same size... it's freaking Validus! That's like an ordinary sized guy running up to fight Superboy. Gim shouldn't have lasted two seconds, even without the mental lightning that eventually fried him.
That doesn't change the fact that this was clearly the best rendition of the Legion we've gotten since at least 1994.

Bright and shiny, they were older (old enough to hold jobs, anyways), a Superboy stand-in, a benign Colu, close to the classic team. It seems to be universally enjoyed. It must have been office or continuity politics that kept it from having a sequel - or a continuing series.

I liked it for the most part. Sales were modest, though. Not high enough to warrant a complete change of direction at the time. I believe it came out between Legion Lost and Legion Worlds.

I'm not sure how much the sales really mean, though, considering it was an Elseworlds. If it were marketed as a new "official" continuity, with a strong marketing push, it almost certainly would have done significantly better.
I think it's more telling that it is generally praised by those who have read it, something we can't say about any other recent incarnation of the team.

Hmmm... I should go dig that out tonight and re-read it. I remember enjoying the books, but can't remember alot of the details. And you can't go wrong with Alan Davis... he draws great kids

It was fun, given post zero hour but it was still just a way to pretend Byrne didn't exist. I'd rather the real thing. Re-boot mmmmmm before the Shot Laurel Kent (because I hated that annual) and just tell stories from that era. Can't rememer if Supergirl had died yet. Boot before that then. Eh, boot before Karate Kid got killed, that was poorly done (my opinion). Ah hell, I didn't like how Chem Kid got killed off either. Before that. Then from there, tell all the good stories in flashback.

Superboy's Legion was easily the best Legion in recent years I remember at the time it came out that I posted a similiar thought to one of the then Legion lists and did not get many people agreeing with me. Most it seemed were still hooked into the DNA Legion.

I loved Superboy's Legion!! Tamper Lad pointed me to it and, well... it was great stuff. But, then, I've always had a soft spot for well done Elseworld-style tales.

With all the attention the Legion has been getting lately, NOW is the time for a sequel to this classic! They need to publish enough to justify a TPB so DC can make some real money off of it...

I loved the tweak on Brainy and Lyle, making them essentially brothers, and having Lyle's invisibility power derive from the Coluan cloaking shields.
Light Lass being able to shoot lasers was also neat. It fit with her name, and yet was different enough from the 'make things float' schtick to be fun.
Shadow Lass manipulating darkforce? Nice. Sort of did for her what the Teen Titans cartoon did for Raven.
Ferro Lad's effectiveness against the Emerald Eye was also a very cool way to make the character shine.
The splash page at the end, showing all of the Legionnaires we didn't get to see in the actual story was awesome. I'm a *huge* sucker for big group shots of the Legion.

I also think that 'Superboy Legion' was the best Legion to come out in recent years.
With all the convulsion in the DC Universe, Legion continuity seems to be an impossibility. I enjoy the Elseworlds formats for the Legion the best, anymore.
