Should be interesting to see how this all works out. I hated to see Legion World go as well..maybe it will return how many times has the Titans Tower been repaired/rebuilt.
I am looking forward to the new series but question how it will be handled. Sometimes creators tend to forget us die hard fans who have been reading the Legion forever and know almost everything about the team. Heck I knew flight rings do not protect in space, ( at least the one I has dosnt)

Can't wait to find out!
Is the fact that Mon-El and Jenni are mentioned as being 'on Earth' foreshadowing special treatment for them? They seem to be the two with biggest ties to the 20th C, and potentially may get some kind of weird 'get-out-of-reboot-free' card... I hope.
After all, if Jenni doesn't exist, there's no reason Bart should, and Mon-El is stated as being a definite 'wait-and-see' character.

wink MonEl

I think XS is doomed. They've hardly used her since before Legion Lost and not that much even then.

Biz - apparently Waid wasn't the one to create XS.

Does the Titans/Legion crossover have anything to do with the Waid reboot though? They could haved killed the entire team on pages 1 to 20 of this book and it still wouldn't have made any difference. What we're going to end up with is a bunch of 60s throwbacks. End of.

Reboot is right... Xs was apparently "Created by Mark Waid, Tom McCraw, & Jeffrey Moy"...

However... I'd say that Mark & Tom were the brains behind the character herself, while Moy prolly came up with the look once the idea was there.

Anyhoo... wink

I've just read it and i like it.

With this issue - thanks to some dialogues - and the sollicitations of Teen Titans for the next issues, i have an idea of what will happen that will lead to the changes in the new serie in december.

However, i think this issue is too fast. Everything happens in a hurry, we don't have any time to stop or enjoy the story that we are already taken in another scene!
It could have been develloped on more that one issue, in my opinion.

McCraw took credit for creating XS. She was based on his speedster character Rush, who appeared in LSH v.4 #51 (December 1993). She predates Waid's Impulse (Flash #91 debut) by about six months. The two writers no doubt collaborated in refashioning her as Bart's cousin and a Legionnaire. The codename had to be changed because Rush was trademarked by another company. All this stuff can be found by searching the old RAC (rec.arts.comics) archives, which contains the transcripts of chats with the reboot creators dating back to 1994. Good source material for questions like this.

Waid said recently the reboot wouldn't change the Bart's 30th century connection so I suspect if any post-boot Legionnaire makes a reappearance, it will be Jenni.

"We can start anew without discounting things like Impulse’s connections to the 31st century, Barry Allen living there his last years, all that will be accounted for."

Now yer talkin'... I like the sounds o' that.

(PS Reboot, have edited my above post. Some would say I rebooted (h'yuk h'yuk) my comment to prevent the apparently horrifying eventuality you fear from occuring. wink )

Why isn't anyone concerned about how Kon's hairstyle suddenly changed? Even Cassie Drew picked up on that one. I hope that mystery is resolved real soon!

Finally read it last night.

~ I thought the space/time slicing was hella-kewl!

~ The upgrade to life-supporting flight rings is about 10 years overdue.

~ Don't for one moment think I missed the mention of Joker's Daughter. Yep, she'll be back soon!

~ Legion World isn't totally destroyed, just hurt a little. Or a lot.

~ I love Geoff Johns for rescuing the JSA (and Infinity Inc) and TEEN TITANS from the oblivion they were consigned to by other writers. AND, to a lesser greater extent, for being so HOT. laugh

Geoff Johns is currently the only writer I trust implicitly these days. Over in Flash he just deepened Identity Crisis _immeasurably_ by tieing it into the DCU at large, and I'm hoping his love of referencing - and then spring boarding away from - continuity will make for a fun LSH/TT Special.

This issue only dropped points because within a couple of pages I went from thinking "Hurrah! Someone else who thinks Legion World is a great idea!" to "damn you Johns! Did you have to blow it up?" (and devote a double page spread that could have held even more snappy dialogue between our two teams). The idea of Chuck and Gear being killed off panel doesn't please me either.

MLLASH: that looked like a pretty well destroyed super hero headquarters to me.

Nah, they mention in the story about making sure it stays in orbit. If it had been out and out destroyed, there wouldn't be anything TO orbit, right?

I've decided a part of it near where the teams were got blowed up real good, but it is a VERY big place, so... I've also decided that Chuck, Gear and all the cadets are safe. Except for Floating Foxlike Creature Lad. He died.

Maybe this story somehow takes place *before* the post-Floundations Giffen fill-in, explaining the damage that had occurred in *that* issue!

I like your theory, Eryk. It also keeps Drura and Nightwind safe.

Consider it in-continuity!
