Didn't he get killed off fairly pointlessly in JSA a couple of years back when Mordru nicked his body?

My views are my own and do not reflect those of everyone else... and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Yes, and he finds that fact somewhat of an annoyance in this issue.

I found that interesting too. It looks like this new post-Crisis DCU may wind up bringing dead heroes by using time travel. Nothing like complicating a fresh start right out of the gate. But I always liked Arion so I'm interested to see where this new story goes.

Arion: "Dah whatdya mean i'm dead. More work."

The Arion appearance was cool, but was he ever portrayed as a womanizer before? And as an immortal womanizer wouldn't you get bored of it after a while?

Not that I recall. But again how many writers do you think are taking advantage of the Crisis in putting their spin on characters? We'll likely see a lot of heroes/villains acting "out of character".

JLA#1 for me. Flash #3 was pretty good too.

52 was not a good week for me....I think it was one of the weakest of the lot.

I'm behind a little, but for the week of 8/16, its a tie between 52 and Ultimate Fantastic Four. I am of course far to lazy to remember what issue numbers each was. laugh

It'll take me another week to catch up to you guys for 8/23...

8/23 Justice League #1 although I hope <span class="spoiler_containter"><span class="spoiler_wording">Click Here For A Spoiler</span><span class="spoiler_text">Red Tornado goes back to his Robot Body</span></span>

I also liked Batman versus the Mad Monk even though this is just a re-write of a Golden Age story.

Got to go for All-Star Superman #5!

Though Teen Titans and 52 were close behind this week!

For last week, Batman.

Hopefully All-Star Supes for this week and Mystery In Space next.

All-Star Superman was EXCELLENT this week! I loved this issue. I have to say, I'd wish we'd see more of this Grant Morrison than what we've seen the last few years.

52 didn't do much for me this week. The abrupt shifts in stories are starting to kill my buzz.

52 moves back into the top spot. Generated lots of excitement for me with some of the reveals.

Followed closely by GI Joe: Declassified, any fan of Hamas original run will enjoy this. So much better than any DDP has put out to date.

Also, JLU was fun this week.

I'm going with 52, as well.

I also really enjoyed this week's Jonah Hex.

I'll check out Mystery in Space. 52 was my pick of the week. I'm beginning to like OMAC, at least enough to not dump it yet.

I thought Mysteries in Space was OK. I'll try the next issue to see if I buy the whole series.

For last week, UNCLE SAM AND THE FREEDOM FIGHTERS #2 lingers in my memory more than anything else I read.

For this week, I'll give my nod to UNCANNY X-MEN #478, which features Lorna Dane (a sentimental favorite) in a costume similar to her most classic one on the cover AND has her acting competently, remembering her past with the team, though she's still learning to use her powers (a constant for this character, evidently).

As I thought, All-Star Supes was my pick of last week's books. Great, great stuff.

This week, Mystery in Space just edges Agents of Atlas.
