They have been involved twice, I believe.

Once before Crisis on Infinite Earths and once just recently for a brief period during "Hush".

They are actually involved right now, to the point where he sleeps at her apartment sometimes.

Agree with Batman, OM. I wish they'd write him as the good guy that he used to be portrayed as more often.

Bruce Wayne was originally supposed to be a "bored, young socialite". I've always thought they should put a lot more emphasis on the "social set" to which he belongs.

Haha. Well, I like Kyle a LOT more than Hal, soooo...

Although, I must admit, I also liked him when he was "unlikeable". But mostly 'cause I thought it was hilarious. I mean, really funny. Yeah, I'm mean. ^_^ What can I say? I love the character torture...
They were good stories as it was interesting to see him try and fill some mighty big shoes but he's definitely more suited to being the light-hearted (not sure if that's really term I'm going for) character he is now.

As for Hal vs. Kyle. I like both but I grew up with Hal and for me he's the man. I think of it this way, the Green Lanterns have been very lucky as far as the leading men go. First Alan, then Hal, then Kyle. And I'm actually started to like Guy, if his current reworking sticks and he doesn't become a sociopath again.

I'm really enjoying this arc. Aside from the fact that this is the JLA lineup from my childhood (just seeing Ollie, Dinah and Hal is worth the price of admission), it's an interesting story that while dealing with "Identity Crisis", a story I thought was really flawed in its concept, manages to overcome a lot of the things I didn't like about "IC" and keeps the Leaguers pretty much in character.
Agreed. And Reddy, can't forget about Reddy. Of course, he gets the short end of the stick....again. I do hope that this signals a return of the satellite league (or at least some semblence of) as they try to make amends for their actions.

In the past, he's been a genuine father figure to Dick Grayson and Superman's best friend. He's genuinely gotten along with his fellow JLAers, not just staying around to keep an eye on them. He's had girlfriends.
Maybe now we're seeing the reasons for the change? It would at least be an interesting avenue to explore.

I read # 117.

I'm still worried that Zatanna is being set up for a horrible fall in INFINTE CRISIS.

I think the villains were put down just a smidge too easily.

Other than that, the issue rocked hearty.

Batista should be permanent artist and let Johns and Heinberg write this sucker from now on, says I!

Seconded! This is the best this series has been in like forever! Johns and Heinberg are bringing it!

But for me - JLA is all about the line-up. If I like the line-up then that's 75% of the way toward my enjoying the comic. And I love this line-up! THIS is the JLA I want to read about! I am SOOOOO bored of the 'Big 7 plus Plastic Man' trash that has been forced upon us for the last millennium! Ollie! Dinah! Hal! Zee! Ralph! Reddy! Carter! Ray! Arthur! This is the League I want to read about! Throw in John Stewart, Vixen and Black Lightning and that's a line-up not to mess with!

As of the latest issue of her mini its quite clear that Seven Soldiers is set after Infinite Crisis so thank goodness she survives whatever's coming up! The bad news though is that she loses her powers! I'm hoping she gets them back next (and final) issue.

Okay, Blacula, you were right on this 1. Fairly obvious the 7 Soldiers happens during the year after Infinite Crisis.

Oooooooh, I can't wait to get this!!! I can't believe I'm this excited about the JLA. I have to echo the sentiments posted regarding the cast. These guys were my JLA, and the current title's emphasis on the "Big 7" has never worked for me.

And Chris Batista needs to be on an ongoing! You hear me Steve??? Take -that- back to the boss, Whacker-Mole! wink angel

This is how the JLA should have always been written!

I'd prefer that this creative team stay on permanently!

Blacula, if you have Hal as Green Lantern, why would you need John Stewart for? The exception to the "let's be versatile" rule would be to have Shayera joining Katar in the line-up, so she can keep an eye on her hunky husband and let the other female JLA-er's who's boss in that unit. nod laugh

... give Batista an ongoing, DC!!! Love his work, here. GREAT moment when Aquaman shows up... though it ultimately went awry. Loved the Zatana, Wonder Woman scene on Themyscira.

The image where Despero digs his fingers into Martian Manhunter's skull has really remained with me since I first saw it. Chilling.

This storyline is proving to be very similar to ROGUE WAR in FLASH. Both have initial battles featuring lots of villains, feature a bit of characterization which is quickly supplanted by an unknown 'larger' threat that wipes the floor with the heroes. I hope this one has a conclusion that's a bit more satisfying than the one in FLASH.

the Zatanna scene on Paradise Island with DC's top women really worked for me ... the kind of moment we get a lot between Bats & Supes

but can someone explain to me what Catwoman has added to the story so far?

And considering how many villains have banded together and faced off against heroes in their own books in recent months, don't u think someone would figure out that there's something BIG up?

(in the past few months of my books, I've seen big villain team ups in the regular monthlies for Flash, Wonder Woman, Catwoman, Firestorm, Hawkman... in addition to whats happening in the JLA, JSA, Teen Titans, Outsiders, and the mini's)

Have i been catatonic for fifteen years or did someone mention "heroine" and "Catwoman" in the same context? Has she gone straight?

She's just a misunderstood thief.

I like her in the JLA and wouldn't mind seeing her join. She's DC's most-recognized female character beyond Wonder Woman and Supergirl.

Andy I think that Catwoman is there to humanize Batman. It's hard for him to fall into the cold reasoning almost robotic crime fighter when she's next to him.

This continues to be a great storyline. I didn't realize Aquaman was back to wearing the green gloves - does his right hand still have water powers?

The debate is of course the most interesting part. I think a lot of us would have no problem erasing bits of the villains' memories, but Superman puts up an interesting argument about personal responsibility. I almost expected Hal to bring up his own experiences with exploiting power, but it didn't happen (not that he would want to remind them all about that). But it bothers me a bit that they don't even mention the possibility of GL using his ring on them. Mind-wiping/ memory erasing had been a recurring plot device in GL for years and some acknowledgment of it seemed needed to me (even if it's just to say that Hal's ring is no longer capable or whatever).

One nitpick -- the moon is approx 238 thousand miles away from the earth, yet J'onn and Despero seem to make that journey like falling off a log.

And yet the fire from reentry does no visible damage to J'onn? That was a little nitpick on my part too. smile

And yet another hero goes to Diana for help/advice, IMO, further sealing her fate in IC...

Is it just me, or does anyone else get the feeling that J'onn's time on Earth is short?

I love this arc but I almost fear for it's conclusion.
