stuorstew, is Bandette ever going to be released in print? Because it looks really fantastic! I'm just not really a digital reader.

I had a quick check on the Monkeybrian website and it doesn't look like it at present which is a shame as it certainly deserves a bigger audience than it probably gets as digital only.

As it is designed for digital it is a much better read than regular formatted books. If you have access to a tablet of any sort I would certainly recommend giving it a try.

Hm. I'll actually look into it and see if I can access it via my iPad. I've been really interested in Bandette since Monkeybrain comics was announced.

You can definitely access it on your iPad via the Comixology app and as its only $.99 it's a bit of a bargain too.

#1 - Legion
like stuorstew, it's the first book I read when it comes out.

#2 - Morning Glories
my favorite non-legion book. love the characters and the mystery. big thanks to multiversity comics for their MGA study halls!

#3 - Saga
great book.
find a way to bring "The Stalk" back brian!!
smile

#4 - Mind The Gap
intriguing. what is the experiment being done on Elle?

#5 - Locke & Key
love the whole concept. i hope Hill has more to tell in this world after Omega.

American Vampire: It was tempting to put Snyder's run on Detective here instead, but this is where he lets loose with his own characters! Snyder is the next big writer in comics. He's not much of a secret anymore, but if you try AmVamp out, I'm sure you'll see his rep is deserved!

Morning Glories: Before Scott Snyder was Nick Spencer. MG is an addicting mystery full of unexpected twists and turns. It's the comics equivalent of Lost with its layered mysteries. Like Lost, it's the characters that keep you coming back for more!

Chew: Awesome, twisted and, yes, funny comic book set in a world where chicken has been outlawed. John Layman & Rob Guilloroy may be the best writer/artist team in comics right now, for my money!

My Top Five is in transition for the first time in a loooong time with Scalped coming to an end, American Vampire going on hiatus and some up-and-comers looking to possibly dethrone the rest. I need to read more issues of these newbies before I make up my mind, so maybe by March I'll have a new list to share!

I only get Morning Glories by trade (just like Chew) and both are fanfrickintastic.

1. Powers
and
2. Manhattan Projects

crowd into my top 5. Manhattan Projects seems fresh.

3. Hawkeye
4. Bedlam
5. Saga bumps out Hellblazer.

6. Hellblazer ... for one more issue. It is still hitting hard though.

Young Avengers started off good. despite having to live up to its own reputation.

1. Nightwing
2. GL
3. Legion
After that, I'm really hard pressed to find a favorite.

Seems to be a common theme for DC lately.

Yeah, its too bad. DC carries most of the titles I enjoyed and the characters I know and love but the quality on most of what they publish now is so bad that I can't support them anymore.

I know most of the problems stem from Dan 'Dodo' and his magic management team so for as long as they are in charge, no DC comics for me.

Actually, from what I'm hearing, in reality it's Jim Lee in charge, creativly. been hearing it a bit lately.

things like Fatale and Manhattan Projects could make my list, but I'd have to read them first smile I just seem to have fallen out of the habit. I'll catch up some this weekend.

I have 5 Fatale issues just sitting there and about the same for Manhattan projects. The Sixth Gun is another small pile.

I feel the same about Fatale ... I went from loving it to having to be in the mood for it to ... now I am wondering if I should keep getting it. I think the current venue/era has run on ... like a run on sentence.

I like Mighty Avengers too actually. I am excited for it to come out this month and went looking for it specifically ... before I even noticed what I was doing. I think it might make number 6 or 7 or replace MP. (MP is hit or miss for me but ... the hit or miss is the difference between excellent and above average)

I find that more and more. DC had the superhero characters I wanted to read about, the ones I connected to growing up. It's harder to get into other comics. It's really hard to find anything that sparks off that magic. Unfortunately the quality at DC is so low it's not worth it presently.

There are other books, moving to different genres, that I enjoy. But I do occasionally drift away from them. I don't have the loyalty. They are often finite series and I may miss them coming back. I may just not like that genre quite enough to hunt out other issues.

I have a friend who gets a few Marvel titles, so I get sneak peeks there. But I've drifted away form those. The Legion has a large cast? How many Avengers and X-Men team are there? I've no idea what they're all there to do.

There are a ton of honorable mentions and runners up but for me right now this is pretty easy:

Fatale
Saga
Hawkeye
Manhattan Projects
Daredevil

All five are utterly fantastic and I actually feel a thrill when I buy and then open them.

I'd like to get this documented now before Marvel's "CRISIS" ruins everything!!

NIGHTCRAWLER (2 dependable for the long term creators like Claremont/Nauck? YES. Feels like home.

DEADPOOL (just for shits and giggles)

AFTERLIFE WITH ARCHIE

Remaining 2 slots to be determined after my reading catch-up, which I am desperately trying to do!!

1. The Names (Vertigo) - Billed as "Kill Bill meets Wall Street", but it's really more unique than that. A widow on the run with her semi-autistic step-son (who's desperately hot for her), trying to uncover a vast conspiracy behind the world economy. Hard to explain the appeal but I'm digging it and it's the top of my read pile.

2.Multiversity (DC) - got it's own thread, but needless to say, it's awesome.

3.Annihilator (Legendary) - Gorgeous art by Frazer Irving and cool script by Morrison equals a consistent winner each month.

4.Ragnarok (IDW) - Walt Simonson does Zombie Thor out for revenge after the dark forces win. This ain't Marvel Thor.

5.Terminal Hero (Dynamite) - tormented doctor tries to keep his Super Cancer under control while others try to exploit or kill him (before the cancer does). More Milligan craziness.
