My list:

1 - Legion: Even though I have not been impressed with recent stories, it's still the one I look forward to the most every month.

2 - Flash: I am totally digging this series. Wally has become the most relatable character that I have read in a long time.

3 - Wonder Woman: I've just been picking this up since the new team took over. She is probably the least relatable character in comics today, but I'm still being entertained.

4 - Hawkman: Good run by Johns. I'm concerned about the new team, though.

5 - Fables: The only Vertigo book I've ever read on a regular basis. Fantastic characters. Fun all around. Rapidly rising in my rankings.

Honorable mention -

Aquaman - So bad, it's... well it's not much good at all. But it looks like it'll be getting better.

JSA - Black Reign was fantastic. But Johns has to start putting out some quality stories on a regular basis if I'm going to become a regular reader again.

Teen Titans - Sorry, guys. I just don't like it. Too much of the (really whiney and annoying!) kids and not enough of the 80's group (you know, the ones who put the Titans on the top of the charts). We've been seven issues and not much has really happened.

Mines-- as TEEN TITANS is DC's # 2 seller according to the top 100 list, its being traded is likely a sure thing.

Awww, SLK, reread those Titans issues-- not much has happened?

SPOILERS!!!!!

Superboy & Krypto: together again for the first time! The total re-invention of Impulse! The return of Jericho! Deathstroke and the surprise former-Titan-all-new Ravager! Raven: back at last! Starfire kicks Wonder Woman's ass! Wonder Girl's dangerous new lasso! Brother Blood! Oh, and Cyborg & Beast Boy are there too (okay, maybe they need some more attention...!).

There's TONS of stuff going on!

My only gripe is, Grummet's art is nice on his fill-ins, but he doesn't do McKone's version of Superboy justice. Which is odd considering how many years he spent on SUPERBOY.

ummm....sorry, I don't know of any other books that are in the same league as these. If you're not reading these three, you're missing out. (In my oh-so-humble opinion, of course.)

Parasitic Twin, I see you're reading My Faith In Frankie. I think this book is great myself, I can't wait for the next few issues!

In fact, I totally recommend this book to everyone! The main character, Frankie, is a high-school girl cutie that is very likeable and is stuck between a dilemna of two boys: a deity and her childhood boyfriend brought back from the dead! It's really a cool book and very well-written.

The way it's written reminds me of something that you would like Lash, the character Frankie is very sweet and the type of character that is usually loved by people here on Legion World!

Oh, and it's a four issue mini by Vertigo.

I thought it might be fun to update this and see how tastes may have changed.

So here's my current top 5 (not counting minis, but you can if you wanna) in no particular order...

YOUNG AVENGERS ...Marvel's top book for me currently. Totally rolling with that "All-New X-Men/Perez Teen Titans/New Warriors" this book is a HIT vibe. I've loved every issue so far.

HAWKMAN ...the past 6 months or so have seen my favorite Hawk-stories ever. The current storyline with all the old villains and Golden Eagle has been totally aces.

JSA ...rocking the house as usual.

TEEN TITANS ...no changes here either.

LEGION OF SUPER-HEROES ...It's back, baby.

FALLING OUT OF THE TOP 5...

OUTSIDERS ...that horrid 2-part fill-in knocked it right out of the top 5 for me. That mess shouldn't have seen print. Here's hoping next issue sees a rebound.

SUPREME POWER ...How the mighty have fallen. This book is on my list of ones to drop at the slightest provocation.

FLASH ...Geoff's run ens soon.

CONTENDERS FOR THE TOP 5...

SUPERGIRL ...0 & 1 were a LOT of fun!

JSA CLASSIFIEDS ...ditto.

SHE-HULK 2 ...She's back in October, you know.

ULTIMATES 2 ...Almost makes the top 5. Close, close.

And if I WERE counting minis, I'm sure that:

THE DEFENDERS

VILLAINS UNITED

and DAY OF VENGEANCE would be way up there.

- Love & Rockets

- Legion

- errm... Hmm. I guess those 2 were the main ones, although I enjoy a lot of other stuff here and there. Those are the two I am completely unable to wait for a TPB of.

The Walking Dead (still #1 on my list)
LSH
Young Avengers
Astonishing X-Men

Hmm. Really can't come up with a fifth one. Those four are about the only continuing titles that aren't on the verge of being dropped for trades or just dropped. If I need a fifth then maybe Batman/Superman, but just barely.

Here's mine:

Top 5
LSH
Teen Titans
Young Avengers
Hunter Killer
Invincible

Honorable Mention:
JSA
Flash
Hawkman
Robin
Ultimate X-Men

Falling Out of the top 5:
Nightwing - the last 8 months have been awful
Outsiders - what a shame, this used to be one I really looked forward to reading each month
New X-Men - seems to have lost it's way. We'll see what the new team does with it.

Mine would have to be. Still I still rather collect trades these are the ones I'm after:

JSA (My love for the Golden Age Heroes knows no bounds.)
Outsiders (I'm optimistic....)
Teen Titans
Superman/Batman
JLA: CoC

Though I have read two other trades recently that were quite good. Green Arrow: Quiver and DC: New Frontier.

Rex Mundi and Outsiders have dropped off my top 5. I've lost a bit of interest in the former (especially with the artist gone) and the latter's just gone to pot.

I checked my old top five list and FOUR of them have fallen out, although one kinda by default.

Young Avengers What can I say that hasn't already been said? This is Marvel's best comic, and one of those rare comics that just gets it. Like the All-New X-Men, Byrne's FF, and even the Marvel Silver Age, it has an unknown excitement factor that somehow, despite many trying, cannot be bottled.

JSA This comic is the KING. Discounting Flash (due to upcoming changes), JSA has been comics best book for some time, and still is, and I'm confident, still will be for sometime. Top of my read list.

Legion of Super-Heroes I feel like its back. It's sharp and its fun and its the LSH again. Even with another reboot, I'm excited. Like many, I think I'm biased here, but I freely admit it. And I'm loving it.

Captain America Now this is good writing. And amazing art. And some risk-taking story-telling, but done in such a crisp, well-written way, with great characterization and I'm drawn in, despite early reservations.

Hawkman Anyone not reading this is stupid. Action, savagely likeable characters leaving my trying to catch my breath--and I'm loving it.

Honorable mentions
- Birds of Prey
- JLA (current arc, but I need more than a current arc to put it in)
- Daredevil
- All (4) Infinite Crisis minis, but I'm not counting minis (particulurly Villains United and OMAC Project)
- Teen Titans
- Ultimate Fantastic Four (the best of the Ultimate titles, and I enjoy USM and Ultimates)
- Wolverine (Mark Millar's run has been the best Wolverine story I've ever read and the best work by Millar I've ever read--and I'm one of the fans that sick to death of Wolverine).

'Tis a good time to be a DC fan.

Falling out are:
-Flash, but only by default. IMO, Geoff John's Flash has consistently been the *best* comic in the entire industry for a few years now, and it still is right now. But, with it ending, I'll have to wait and see what's next for the title.

-Supreme Power- has become a total letdown. Dragging along, no likeable characters, and I will not be buying any minis related.

- Human Target - cancelled, but to be honest, I wasn't liking this title in the final months nearly as much as I was when it started.

- Daredevil - this is still good, but the final two arcs just haven't felt *great*. But Bendis has had the best DD run since Miller, and I've read the entire run. I do think Brubaker will keep it going. It would be in my Marvel top-five, just not the entire one.

I have some questions if you dont mind...

Is the Astonishing X-Men a continuation of X-Men (vol. 1) or a revamp?

Are the Fantastic Four still together (as a group and as a comic book?)

Okay, as a resident X-Men afficianado (and you all thought I only knew the Flash wink ), I'll field these. The X-Men vol. 1 is currently titled "The Uncanny X-Men" and has been for many years. The X-Men vol. 2, once called "New X-Men" for a short time (Morrison's run) but has returned to it's adjectiveless ways, started in 1991. The Astonishing X-Men vol. 3 (the first was an Age of Apocalypse mini andthe second was a normal continuity mini) was born out of the "X-Treme X-Men" ashes (which was the third X-Book, born in 2001, I think). It's written by Joss Wheaton and was one of the new titles when Marvel did a "Reload" in March '04. Basically, they reorganized the rosters for the X-Teams. There's now a fourth normal continuity X-Book, the New X-Men vol. 2, born of the New Mutants vol. 2 series, which is about the kids at the school. Additionally, there's also the "Ultimate X-Men", which takes place in the infamous "Ultimate" universe. Actually, it's pretty good... except for one or two minor things. And the current artist. I am not a fan.

And that's the short version.

As for the Fantastic Four, yes, they are still a team. A team with three books. They have their series going 530 or so issues strong. Waid came off of the book before starting Legion and his run was phenominal. The regular FF book is a bit campy but still fun. There's also a "Marvel Knights" book called simply "4" and I hear good things but haven't read it simply out of disinterest. And the Fantastic Four too have an Ultimate book (guess what the title is wink ) which has the most amazing art. Greg Land is a God. Seriously, this stuff is even better than his Birds of Prey work.

Uhm, so I think that about covers it!! laugh
