They've done a similar thing with the "Last Son" arc in Action, where they're apparently re-scheduling the later parts of it for later issues and inserting another story in the middle.

I forgot about that announcement earlier this week. They also pushed back the 3-D version scheduled for Action #848 to #851 according to Johns .

What's interesting here though is that they're apparently leaving Heinberg's issue for later, and going onto the non-Heinberg issues with #6 as planned, leaving the last issue of his arc for whenever he gets round to it...

How many issues are actually out? I haven't seen anything since #1.

I think the first three issues are out so far, with #4 due out this week.
I picked up the first two, I believe, but it wasn't really anything that interested me.

Originally posted by Lightning Lad: DC announced today that WW #5, which was supposed to be the last part of the "Who Is Wonder Woman" story. Instead they will have a new story written by Will Pfeifer, with art by Jean Diaz, Geraldo Borges and Wellington Diaz and a cover by Terry Dodson and Rachel Dodson.
The new story is about women's movement inspired by WW's killing of Max Lord. Chapter five of "Who Is Wonder Woman" will be rescheduled at a future date.
So right at the apex of the story you stop? With all the delays this title already has been through why not delay it again for the last chapter? This is like someone breaking into a murder mystery as the murderer is about to be revealed and saying "We interrupt your program to bring you this important message." DC is botching this title as much as Marvel did with Civil War. I'm glad they have moved on. Heinberg isn't wowing anyone, and the delay is ridiculous. I wish this was done more often. Sure, it's a pain in the ass reading, but it's not like I can't go back and re-read old issues. I'm curious to see what'll happen with YA now...
Just spouting off.

I'm all for them moving on. There are too many delays in too many books nowadays. But what I don't understand is how can they move on with WW? Wasn't the first arc supposed to re-establish her? How do you start a new arc, with new writers, without either ruining the end of the first arc or totally stepping all over it and making it moot?

You step on it, ruin it, make it moot.
Maybe it would be better to have Pfeiffer write the conclusion. But the book has to move on. Sounds like the new gal has a far enough lead that it will be more monthly again.
And hopefully learn that established writers don't guarantee sales...
Just spouting off.

Well, it's not like everyone doesn't know how things basically end up in the end, anyway. We al know that Diana is eventually going to end up as Wonder Woman again, ala her appearances in JLA.

From Heinberg's MySpace page: "Hey, everybody,
"Because of our ongoing scheduling issues, DC Comics has been generous enough to allow Terry Dodson and me to make the conclusion of our "Who Is Wonder Woman?" arc into an extra-sized special issue, complete with guests artists, a backup story, and several cool additional features. The scheduling shift will allow a newly solicited WONDER WOMAN 5 to ship on schedule, an issue that ties into Jodi Picoult's upcoming run on the book and Will Pfeiffer's AMAZONS ATTACK event.
"Oh, and I'm told WONDER WOMAN 4 is allegedly in stores next week. Hope you enjoy it.
"All best,
"Heinberg"

I say move on to. I've long since stopped caring, and it wasn't like this was Watchman or anything. We know how it ends up too, like Eryk says.
I'm at the point where I say give me monthlies on time, or risk losing my business. No more excuses--just make it work, we don't care about your schedules.

I agree, Cobie. I thought this book had real potential - but if they are just going to skip around storywise, I'll spend my money on something else.

I think I'm the only person still loving this book!
Its totally reinvigorated my interest in Wonder Woman and her solo title - a book I haven't collected since before George Perez left.
IMO the story has been fun and interesting with lots of cool cameos and surprises and all drawn perfectly. Great writing and great art! What more could you ask for? Well OK - a book that comes out on time, but for some reason that hasn't bothered me with this title.
Can't wait to see all those cool old pre-Crisis villains in action next issue!

Uhhh... next issue is an unrelated Amazons Attack prelude. Not see the rest of this page?

Thanks Reboot. I wrote "next issue" but in my head was thinking "in the next issue of this storyline (whenever that may be)".

According to one of the panels this weekend (forgot which and which site had the news) the final part of "Who is Wonder Woman" will be a 48 page special. No idea when it will be released.

Not feeling this as much as I thought I would. Heinberg's Young Avengers were so good I was expecting a bit more I guess. Infact didn't care for the set up at all. She's suddenly WW again? huh?
I like the elements. Nemesis, the agency stuff, Circe, the Hercules twist. I LOVE the art. But as far as WW stories go it's a bit simple. I don't see much of a difference than the last few years of WW...just less complex.

I loved the teaser cliffhanger at the end with the tons of old WW villains showing up, lots in silhouette... but now it might be a year or whatever before that story wraps? This was a bad idea.

re: "give me monthly or else" thing, I'm spending so damn much money on comics already that I wouldn't mind if more books were bi-monthly or quarterly. I would be fine if no other issue of WW came out until this arc was completed, then they could go full-tilt with the next team if they wanted.

I'd rather they released storylines together. In other words, if a crative team can only get six issues out in a year, I'd rather read them in January through June and have no issues the rest of the year.
That ain't gonna happen for long with a character like WW, though.
Sorry for your wallet, LASHie, but I expect a bunch of biweekly Wondy-related stuff soon. Guess AMAZONS ATTACK will be part of that (which looks good, by the way, though I don't particularly want to read more Amazon deaths).

I don't particularly want to read more Amazon deaths). For an ageless race that doesn't reproduce, they sure do burn through them, don't they? I'm surprised they made it past 28 AD at this rate...

Heinberg's story was fun and the art was great, but like everything he's done in comics, the lateness of the book kept me uninterested throughout the run despite having some initial enthusiasm.
Looking forward to a writer that can make a monthly commmittment without crappy excuses.

Okay, so I picked up # 5 today and had no idea that they weren't finishing the "Who is Wonder Woman" story this issue.
Seems pretty lame to me.

I think I am just gonna drop this title. If they can't finish what they start, I'll spend my money on something else.
