Man! That just plain SUCKS! What was wrong with the frickin' swooshy--or the bullet, for that matter! At least the swooshy was similar in spirit to the bullet! But this? Lamer than FDR, man! (And, yes, the FDR crack was meant to be in as poor taste as this new logo! )
Still "Lardy" to my friends!

I haven't seen such negative reaction to a corporate logo since the Procter & Gamble Man-in-the-Moon-is-satanic hoo-ha in the '80s!
The only character in all of literature who has been described as "badnass" while using the phrase "vile miscreant."

it looks too generic-corporate. The current logo is a good one, still fresh, and paying homage to the bullet.
The childhood friend Exnihil never had.

I don't dislike it because it reminds me of Cartoon Network's logos, and that brings back childhood memories. Part of me wonders if that is part of the reason for the design; DC super-heroes are getting TV shows on Cartoon Network.

Well if it is to be a seperate logo for the TV/movies division, I can live with it. But please don't let in de-fabulize my DC comics!

They should just make it the Bat symbol and be done with it. You know they want to.

And isn't saying "DC Comics" redundant, like saying "ATM machine"? Thank you! Both expressions have bothered me for years. Of course, its your average person on the street that says "ATM machine". DC pays marketing experts to put the name of the company out there. Instead of paying them for an unnecessary and redundant change they should knock a nickle off the price or replace a superfluous page of text for a page of story.

Huh. I don't think the logo looks bad in a design sense, but I'd never associate it with comics. An appliance or insurance company, maybe. Not comics.

I was thinking a petroleum product. It just dosn't have enough quirky energy for comics or even media.

Well I'm going to be the odd one out and say "I like it."
I actually think it's quite clever. And I like the way the D peels back to reveal the C.
I think it will look much better once they start playing around with the colours of it too.
The one thing I really do not like about it is the font they've used for the "DC Comics" part - it just looks too utilitarian and boring.
All that said, I don't think it's the best logo for a comic book company and I think they're crazy for a) implementing a new logo so soon after the last one, and b) if they are determined to bring in a new logo, not launching it along with their line of nu52.
But stupid decisions like this one are par for the course with editorial at that company IMO.
And for the record, my favourite DC logo is still the "Bullet".

Let's keep in mind that so far they haven't announced this as their new logo, it's just something they've copyrighted.

Well I thought it looked good before and now I think it looks great!
Love the way it's been individualised to suit each different character/title.
I definitely think it will look good animated too (if that's what they have planned for the online versions of comics).
With DC's long history of catchy logos I'm surprised Marvel has never done anything more than their boring "Marvel Comics" thing. Or have they and I missed it?

This is the first DC logo I actually like! Hated the swoosh, detested the bullet.

I've changed from a "Didn't we JUST do this" to appreciating both the idea and the digital possibilities. Cool!
