Pulled part of this from Newsrama. DC is cleaning house and looks as if changes are headed our way. Kinda sad to see some of these end. Excuse me...I need a tissue... Go to newsrama if you want the complete article.
DD: Let me pull out my full list: Plastic Man with #20, Flash with #230, Superman #226 is the last issue for that numbering, Wonder Woman #226 is the last issue of that run, Gotham Knights #74, Gotham Central #40, JLA #125, and Batgirl #73.
NRAMA: That’s a healthy list…
DD: Yeah, we’re feeling good about ourselves (laughs).
NRAMA: I couldn’t help but notice - Superman #226 is the “last issue of that numbering?”
DD: Right.
NRAMA: You want to explain?
DD: I turn this question back to the fans, because I’m not really sure what I’m canceling. We’re going from three Superman books to two: Superman and Action Comics. As of March, the numbering on Superman returns to its classic numbering which will be #650.
Looking for Earth Prime.

With only two Superman books to keep track of, I might actually start buying them again.
Batgirl and the Gotham books don't affect me at all, but I've heard that Gotham Central got some pretty good reviews.
Flash and Wonder Woman will obviously be back considering that they're both probably in DC's top twenty right now. What worries me is the reason that they're being renumbered. I don't like seeing series start over with new #1's unless it's a pretty drastic change. And I don't want to see a drastic change with either of these characters, because I've just learned to love both of them in the last year. Unfortunately, this supports some of the rumors I've seen about one or both of them dying and being replaced. Not a a good sign.
And JLA is getting cancelled? Just what the heck is going on there?
So with WWoman, Flash, JLA and Green Lantern all being cancelled in the last year, just how many titles does DC have that is numbered over 100? Action, Superman, Detective, Batman of course. Hellblazer? Is Robin close? Why can't they let some of these titles have some longetivity?

I think the Superman thing is pretty cool. Fully expect Flash, WW and JLA to all be back up and running soon after, although I'm hoping for Wally still (not looking the greatest--really dissapointed if *cringe* its Bart) and JLA with the iconic team.
Sad to see GC go, but Rucka has said he'd like it to close and that sits well with me. Good riddance to excess Bat and Super titles.
Other things:
- Hawkman becomes Hawkgirl with #50. Meh. I'd rather "Hawkman & Hawkgirl". Not sure I like this.
- Aquaman was about to get cancelled, but has a new direction. Thank goodness, it needs one. Here's hoping its good.
- A ton of new series in the works, can't wait to see what they are!

SLK, Robin is in the mid-130's, and Nightwing is just over #100. JSA is actually close, believe it or not, and so is BoP. Moderators: this could probably be moved to Gym'll's.

Actually the Superman and Batman books will be about back to normal when their new titles launch.
Superman Confidential Batman Confidential Streets of Gotham
Those are just the ones basically confirmed for after IC. Could be more.

I hadn't heard about the Confidential series, but it figures they couldn't stick with just two regular series each. I also forgot about Superman/Batman too. Plus isn't there supposed to be a new Brave & Bold series coming out? Is that going to be another Bat-team up book?

I'm not sure how the new Brave & Bold is supposed to work but I think it will be a Bat team-up book. Mark Waid is to be the writer.

I thought that Brave and Bold will not be a Batman team up - as I understood from Waid's interview - I believe that it will be like Green Lantern teaming up with Flash, Martian Manhunter teaming up with Green Arrow, something like that. ?

I can't remember where I read it, but I recall something about a rolling rotation for B&B? So it might be Supergirl and Green Arrow one month, then Green Arrow & Martian Manhunter next month, then Martian Manhunter & Batman the month after? Of course I could be wrong...

Pretty positive that B&B will not be a Bat-team-up, but will have more Batman appearances than any other hero. So probably a Bat story every three or four, followed by other team-ups. Its sounds good to me.
Scott, I thought those confidential rumors were still just rumors (reported by Rich Johnston)? Did someone at DC actually confirm this yet?
Other probable new titles:
- Spectre - magical super team (what do they call themselves? I forget) - Space hero drama (hopefully centered on Adam Strange) - more plans for Zatanna, the Ray, etc. Possibly 52, or own minis and ongoings? - The Atom

I thought I had read it in a couple of other places as well, besides LitG. But you never know. It could just be more sites spreading his rumor. I actually thought the two series were confirmed but Rich was spreading rumors as to who the creative teams would be.

Why renumber Wonder Woman? Do they think it will bring in more readers? I tend to think a well-promoted reboot, using the same numbering, would work just about as well -- and keeps the numbering system, which gives the title a bit more weight insofar as it shows that it's been around a while...

Did they renumber ACTION when Superman was rebooted by John Byrne?

LAM, what they did was change 'Superman' to 'Adventures of Superman' and then have a third title come out with the name 'Superman'.
Now, they are ending this third 'Superman' title (there has actually been a forth, fifth, so on, etc.). Then they are changing back 'Adventures of Superman' to 'Superman', so that the two main Superman titles reflect the classic DC Superman numbering.

I wonder if they're planing to relaunch Wonder Women and Flash with the original numbering like they're doing with Superman?

Arachne, I have been wondering exactly the same thing. That would put WW in the 550s and Flash around the same?

Are you counting the Wonder Woman series that started post-CRISIS as number 1 or are you thinking of the original (vol. 1) numbering which stopped after 227?

I'm all FOR the relaunching of Flash, WW & JLA with the original numbering and against starting with new # 1s. New # 1s-- That's SO passe'.
Also, I'm hoping to see SHADOWPACT, OMEGA MEN (or L.E.G.I.O.N.) and SECRET SOCIETY OF SUPER-VILLAINS (or SECRET SIX) titles!

This would fit with the direction of the IC storyline.
Whether or not the multiverse comes back, the pre-crisis stories could return to continuity just by the fact the current DCU would know about them even if they have nothing to do with the current versions of the characters.
Thus it'd make sense if the numbering of the historical series to acknowledge an unbroken line back to the golden age. Just as the 1986 launches began at #1 to signify a break in the continuity.
