I love Perez's cover for #2. Both artists are playing to their strengths however...which is good for us.

Yeah, as though I'm not going to show preference for the cover that has WILDFIRE on it...!!
But really, the history that Perez shows us is more intriguing than the splash of Lee's cover for #2.

DrakeB3004, it's almost for two different groups. Lee I see as the movie poster for the more mainstream audience while Perez I say is all for the fans!

The interesting thing is how a lot of people I talk to think the Perez covers are "variants" even though both covers are being shipped in equal numbers.

DC Direct is making both covers to IC #1 available as 2'x3' posters. Buy your favorite!

I wonder how a Fred Hembeck Alternative Cover would have done...?

Well, I already had Fred do a cover for me so someone else will have to ask for an IC one.

Thanks Pov. I figured most hadn't seen the original posting of it and Cru left me the perfect opening.
As for the count, I received my shipment today, two Perez and one Lee. So that brings my copies to three copies of Perez and two of the Lee.

Adding in Stu's copy and Scott's additional copies, we have confirmed:
PEREZ 30, LEE 11
Maybe # 2 will see Lee's numbers rise... or see him squashed like an overripe... squash.
I'm undecided yet for # 2... love Perez' of course, but Lee's Peege surrrrre is cute. I reckon I'll make the final choice when I have 'em each in hand.

I got the Perez version of issue #2...
Not that I didn't like the Lee version (which was what the store had pulled for me), but I guess I like the continuity of having the same artist for my covers. (Not that this necessarily means I'll be getting the Perez version of every single issue...)

Issue #2 - One of each. (I read the Lee one, just cause I want to keep the Perez one mint. )

Perez. But only because my shop was sold out of the Lee issue when I got there just before closing tonight.
I'll report my other two copies when I get them first of the month.

Perez, though the Lee cover was tempting. The Perez/Ordway pages in the issue were nice too.

Is the Perez/Ordway collaberation designed to help clarify what had happened in the original Crisis? George and Jerry made a dynamite team for the final few issues of COIE

I ended up getting the LEE cover for # 2-- I *much* preferred Karen's powerful pic by Lee to the Perez' hunched-over butt-shot with myriad images when I compared the two.
this brings our total to:
PEREZ 34, LEE 13

I bought the Perez cover for #2 (as I did for #1) but I totally agree with Lash that Lee's was the better pic.
So far I haven't really liked any of the covers by Perez except for #4... and he's supposed to be my favourite artist!

For # 3 I once again bought a Jim Lee cover.
No way was I choosing the far-too-busy (IMO) Perez Wonder Woman cover over a cover featuring Catwoman in her purple & green costume!
I remember as a li'l kid being all P.O.ed when Selina's mego action figure was wearing that horrid blue abomination, instead of her purple & green!
Next issue's Bumblebee cover will almost certainly gaurantee I buy the Perez version, though.
