Why not have it as the first time the Legion met Mordru? Plus some other villians probably from the perspective other legions as well. Now that will make sense...and it takes care of the "now it can be told...the legion's first meeting with Mordru!!"

Good idea but the timing doesn't fit with Johns' placing of the event. I think it replaces Adventure 250/251 ie about three years later - Legion time

neat idea, but it's already being tied to the Tornado Twins story, while also replacing the Sir Prize (and possibly Miss Terious) story of 250-251.

I actually prefer the first Mordru story to remain "off-camera."
Fans who actually clamor to see it have such high expectations that I cannot see how they could be met.
I myself like there to be a little mystery, and that each of us may have 10,000 imaginitive different versinos of what that first encounter might have been.

Naturally, I suspect Beppo the Super-Monkey and the rest of the Super Pets had a MAJOR role in reversing the spell Mordru used to turn the Legionnaires into infants and defeating the rogue outright!

Bah! It's been done. Rokk and Mordru (does he have a first name?..or IS that his first name?) had tea and played verbal chess. No fists, no powers, no bloody corpses and somehow Krinn won. I still don't get it. One of these days I'll have to ask Giffen what the hell that was all about.

Full name = Mordru T. Merciless
If they were going to tie it to some unrevealed story, it would make more sense to make it the story of what the other Legionnaires were up to in another dimension when the Sun-Eater attacked.
We know the basics of the Mordru story from flashbacks, and that's plenty for me. The only really great mystery would be how they discover his weakness.
