Been on board since the start, and I have yet to put the book on my danger list. The stories have blended the past and the present while remaining compelling.

Loved the JSA/JSA team-up more than I expected, although I wish the Sand-Sandman and the Drs. Mid-Nite meetings had had more screen time.

And we're getting the Freedom Fighters, at least as supporting characters? Hallelujah!

Excited about JSA Classified, and I'm dropping JLA Classified after the current storyline so I can afford it.

New logo: Cool. Very un-comic booky. Suits the classic nature of the title.

Shazam back: Sweet! And picking up my favorite subplot of the last year or two: Billy and Courtney. I really like them as a couple, and I really like the complications involved with Cap Marv being an "adult" part time.

Back to Khandaq: Returning to my favorite JSA storyline? Right on. And I don't think Teth-Adam no longer has "grey areas"--he's involved with the villains to protect his homeland. Maybe someday Black Adam will be able to make a decision to protect his homeland that DOESN'T involve a deal with the devil.

The only consistent feature of all of your dissatisfying relationships is you.

# 73 was a quick but intense read.

The new logo is magnificent, as are the Ross covers.

Todd, TOTALLY AGREE re: the Freedom Fighters appearance. I was THRILLED. Now, add the new Black Condor and Dollman and Dollgirl, and a new female Firebrand.

What agreat time to be a DC fan.

I totally agree about the past/present blending, CK. I hope this continues-- this fine a balance is hard to maintain, I'd bet.

I wanted more of the Sands and Mid-nites, too. Black Canaray would've been a nice 'guest' star for that arc, too.

FREEDOM FIGHTERS deserve a new series, DC!

I like Billy and Courtney, too, afob. Their pairing adds a freshness to Cap and depth to Courtney. I've missed them...

I'd agree as far as the way he's written in JSA-- not so sure about his charactization in VILLAINS, UNITED etc.

Yeah, Condor and the Dolls should be there-- a new Firebrand? Cool.

What'd you think of my Molly Mayne idea?

I would rather see Molly in the pages of JSA.

I'd like that, as well! But the pages of a projected FREEDOM FIGHTERS would be a lot less crowded than those of JSA.

If Molly can be deaged and hooked back up with her Harlequin glasses, I say use her in FF *and* JSA! Heck yeah! "Case of the Patriotic Crimes" remains my favorite Golden-Age JSA story, and Molly (with Black Canary) played a heavy role in that tale.

after thinking about it, I think I would like to see a book entitled "First Family", starring Alan, Molly (de-aged), Jade and Todd.

A family adventure series would be an interesting angle.

Am I missing something? Why did Atom Smasher phone and then hang up on Damage? How is Al ever going to get back into the JSA fold?

-and add me to the list of those wanting to see a new Firebrand.

Don't remember why but I seem to think that Damage and Atom-Smasher may actually be brothers or related in some way. Of couser, Damage is technically related to all the members of the original JSA laugh

Atom-Smasher is the godson of the Atom. The Atom is the father of Damage. That said, Damage never knew the Atom since he died before he came on the scene. Damage was raised by adoptive parents - parents who were, IIRC, related to Doctor Polaris.

Another strong issue... but I'm scared for Atom-Smasher. Both in the short term sense of the issue's cliffhanger and in the long term sense of his continued 'life'.

The Power Girl stuff reminds me of ULTRA BOY in LSH. Hmmmm-- Maybe she's a Kryptonion refugee that got swallowed by a Space Whale en route to Earth? When does JSA Classified debut? It already seems like it's been such a long time since we were 'teased' about it...

BLACK ADAM embodies the complexity that armsfalloffboy mentioned earlier in this thread.

It was a treat to actually see Lyta speak, for a page, anyway. Hope she gets some screen time somewhere or another, soon.

I was a tad disappointed about the lack of a FREEDOM FIGHTER follow-up-- though we certainly weren't promised any such thing. Maybe in #75? Or JSA Classified?

#25's out... WOW! What an issue-- if I wasn't a fan of Black Adam before, I sure am now! The last 6 or so pages were stunning.

Duuuude, I know it. JSA is, like, one of my faves (Geoff!!!! *squee*) and I shouldn't even give a damn about any of the characters. But... I do... and I've read all the issues and, just... yeah. Wow is right.

Well, Adam's always been kick-ass as written by Geoff. Still, I am glad Al is going back to the JSA.

And I've always loved Al (as well as all of the InfInc characters) but anyone who can be brave enough to take on The Spectre like he did and be willing to be judged as he did deserves to be boosted to TOP-TIER status. Atom Smasher is now a Superman-level hero, in my book anyway.

Just read #76.

Before I get into it, have to say that Lash is right on about Geoff's Black Adam--one of the best written characters out there right now, with level upon level of depth.

Which actually goes for Atom Smasher too, which we continue to see in this issue. Good for Al, no matter what pain and suffering may be in his future, as it appears he's finally living on his own terms. I'm kinda glad to see the surprise guest on the final page though, as I don't want him wasting away in jail.

So we see the Omac Project and Villain United slightly crossing over for the first time. Did I read that right that Caculator has discovered the existence of Max Lord and the Omac Project? It was a kind of hard scene to read, but it seemed to fit with what was happening. JLA looks to be a central book as we head to infinite crisis. Added with Power Girl's ongoing story, subtle connections to Day of Judgement and the next issue box showing links to Donna Troy and the Rann/Thanagar War--it looks like it will be here and in the Superman books were it all comes to a head (I'm saying the Superman books, b/c I read that somewhere else).

I like Alan and Jay's concern for Al being balanced by their long-standing sense of justice. And Carter's apparent willingness to do what it takes to make sure Al is OK makes me love him even more.

I also liked the surprise visitor and would love to see a new updated version of the Suicide Squad. Maybe the 6 can pick up the mantle after Villians is over..I really like the Catman and Deadshot machoism.

Totally. I want to keep reading about the Six and their interactions, those two especially. A Suicide Squad/Secret Six type book would be very welcome, and I'd be happy for Atom-Smasher to continue to get great characterization, whether in JSA or something else.

Hmm. I appreciate that Al did the right thing, but I'd much prefer to see the JSA pull some strings and get him out of this sooner rather than later. I can't see his joining the SUICIDE SQUAD doing any better for his self-image than joining with Black Adam did.

Some good JLI scenes and I like Al's longer hair too.

# 76 rocked as usual.

i haven't noticed anything else mention this yet ..... but don't you just love the current run of Alex Ross covers !!

so far we've had:

CAPTAIN MARVEL
the HAWKS
SPECTRE
MR TERRIFIC

and still to come:

GREEN LANTERN
FLASH
HOURMAN

these portrait images are so cool, very much like his 'JUSTICE LEAGUE of AMERICA' posters, i like how these ones all have BLACK backgrounds !!

i thinking of framing them all at some point ?? at least this way i an fit them all, on my office wall !!

at some point in the future i'd love to have ALL of the 'JLA' posters framed and up on a VERY LONG wall in my future home !!

i can see them on both sides of an entrance hall !! they'd look so cool !!

Matthew.

I think that is a cool idea. I first thought they were going to be a poster much like you mentioned Matthew.
Alex Ross rocks.
