I'm thinking a little Rann-Thanagar romance between the Hawks' kid and Adam Strange's kid...
AS's kid is totally a teleporter!

I like Hal Jordan and Carol Ferris's daughter, Sapphire. Let's give her a twin brother, Onyx, paralleling Jade and Obsidian.
The only character in all of literature who has been described as "badnass" while using the phrase "vile miscreant."

In true Earth-One/Earth-Two fashion, we should have Earth-One versions of I.I. characters: Silver Scarab, Fury, Nuklon, etc.
Silver Scarab could be Blue Beetle's son, having been raised following Ted Kord's death by Hawkman and Hawkwoman, hence their connection.
Fury would be the grown-up Donna (Wonder Girl) Troy.
Nuklon would be the godson of Ray Palmer, who was experimenting with his godfather's size controls, something went haywire, and he became a giant.

Why has no one thought of giving Donna Troy this codename before now !!! from now on she will be thought of as the Fury II ... by me.

I was in an online play-by-post roleplaying game like this years ago: Justice League Beyond
I also did the SuperKids with Partial Powers: Jonathan, Jimmy, and little Martha Kent. Only Jimmy joined the JLB, Martha was too little, and I think Jon was already Superman Jr. (Superman and I believe many of the JL disappeared years ago.)
Jimmy took the hero name Sam-El, after his maternal grandfather Sam Lane and of course the House of El.
Great scene with Lois not wanting to let Jimmy become a hero so young, and Max Lord trying to convince her.
He got maybe 1/4 Kryptonian strength and perhaps superhearing, and no speed I think (thought I'd leave that to the Flash Beyond character).

Wow. I don't want to claim this is a superpower, but it's amazing how often my posts start a new page in a thread. This feels like three in a row.

On the topic of Earth-1 versions of Earth-2 characters, I've often thought it would be interesting to have a Julie Schwartz-style sci fi "Earth One" version of Dr. Fate.
I'm thinking something like the helmet being basically a futuristic computer sent back through time in order to prevent certain catastrophic events from happening. So he would know people's "fates", and then intervene to change them. Plus it would generate other cool future tech for him to use in fighting crime.

That's so brilliant it actually hurts, Eryk. I could totally see John Broome and Carmen Infantino doing that series!
My favorite so far!

I was just reading the Flash story where Mirror Master escaped prison into a mirror dimension populated by warrior women who cater to his every whim! If that didn't produce a baby Scudder, I'd be disappointed!

Disguise Damsel: The child of Beast Boy and Gypsy from the Detroit Era JLA. The two of them meet at a super-hero charity event and bond due to their shared sense of whimsy and having things in common as they both were the youngest members of their respected teams. Her powers would make her a valuable member of the team, but her humor would be even more valuable.
Duke Deimos- The child of the villaness Phobia, a constant thorn in the side of Infinity, Inc who wishes revenge against all Doom Patrol characters because they put his mother in jail.

I am going to attempt to revive this thread due to it's newfound relevance. I love that we all seemed to agree that the child of Green Lantern and Star Sapphire should inherit her powers. I also am impressed that my past self thought of breeding Beast Boy and Gypsy to create the ultimate shape-shifting character.
The short-lived Detroit Era has a lot of possibilities. Vibe could have survived and maybe gotten a power upgrade if the Flash's are relegated to New Earth/Earth-2 due to their contributions to the Crisises. I like the idea of him serving as a mentor to the newer heroes.

Let's take Earth-One history roughly as it occurred up until Crisis. Now it's twenty-five or so years later. And it's time for the children of the legendary Justice League of America to step up to fill the shoes of their parents. Clark and Lois can’t have kids. That’s where Kryptonian technology comes in handy. But their son is more interested in parts of Kryptonian history incompatible with his parents values, and becomes a villain to the new team. (Roy Thomas was going to have the son of E2 Supes and Lois be a villain). Superman might be called out of retirement to deal with this one. Ibn al Xu'ffasch forms a mirror of the Justice League but very much without the “of America” tag. It’s values and outlook cause tension and conflict. Countering him would be The Huntress. She would be the daughter of Mari McCabe and the Batman, who were shown as close during the JLD. Arisia Stewart is the daughter of John and Katma, taking her name from a deceased Green Lantern and close friend of the family. She inherits the Green Lantern ring after her father goes into exile after a cosmic Event. She wasn’t the Guardians choice for the role. Barry Allen II travels from a disintegrating future to find that the League that inspired the Legion he’s a member of doesn’t exist. He’s involved in the creation of this inspiration in the past (Barry II has been mentioned in the DCU) Cobie’s detective daughter of the Dibny’s seems a perfect fit. I’d call her Plastic Girl. Peebs’ Kid Constantine (perhaps a girl from a really rough area with a shattered Constantine as a dad) could be a Harbinger of the events we’d glimpse in Books of Magic. During the Crisis, Hank Heywood was teleported to the future where he had a relationship with the Lord of Time’s daughter. Their time travelling son gets involved with the team through Barry’s kid. He calls himself Hourman. Luther Mannkin protected a visiting alien from foes both earthbound and extra-terrestrial. During their adventures a mortally wounded J’Emm merged with the boy, who now calls himself the Manhunter. (Luthor was the kid in J’Emm: Son of Saturn) EDE mentioned having a science origin for Doctor Fate. I think his early Golden Age appearances covered that. He wasn’t mystical from the start. Just need to get him to Earth-1. Alanna Strange’s kid (from Moore’s Swamp Thing). Hey, although it wasn’t in that story you could still make her a teleporter, but through either the Green or through some other realm of Zeta-Consciousness. Metamorpho had a kid in JLE. I seem to remember it being a bit unstable. Possibly a villain/ pawn of Simon Stagg. Wonder Woman, moulded from clay has not aged. Her pre-crisis past had already been split forming distinct characters such as Wonder Girl. While Diana and Donna are no longer active, Dorothy, the former Wonder-Tot is! – Wonder Woman. In the future the world is a small place. But it’s not a kid of Ray Palmer’s who gets onto the team. It’s the son of Solivar who gets the size/weight belt in a globe trotting adventure – The Atom but popularly known as Atom Ape. So a main team of:- Wonder Woman Flash Green Lantern Plastic Girl Hourman Manhunter Huntress Atom Ape

AS's kid is totally a teleporter! Ooh yes, I had a version called 'Zee Strange,' who was infused with Zeta-beam technology from her zeta-beam irradiated father, and could teleport herself, her team and occasionally summon her 'Strange Men,' a team of Rannian soldiers with jet-packs and ray-guns whom she could teleport in as cavalry to save the day. As for random ideas of my own; Rogue Wave - red haired son of Arthur Curry and Mera, amphibious with Atlantean strength and toughness, and the ability to form hard water armor and weapons. He can throw spears of hard water, but not do 'Green Lantern' tricks like create giant hands or walls of 'hard water'. Most of his hard water stuff is limited to touch range, hence the focus on creating medieval looking armor and weapons and shields. He's a little bit more laid-back than either of his overly serious parents, and if he's got a temper, nobody has seen it. Yet. Hellwalker - daughter of Zatanna and John Constantine, wearing relatively skimpy costume (with rip-away sleeves and trousers) to quickly expose her rune-tattooed skin, so that she can activate the various spells inscribed on her flesh (that she lacks the personal power to cast otherwise, the tattoos being a gift from her mother). She's got Sargon the Sorcerer's Ruby of Life, which she can use to animate inanimate objects, as well as a small flying carpet that she wears as a cloak (she lets people think that she's animating it with the Ruby of Life, but it's a separate enchanted item on it's own). For reasons that remain unclear, she's got a demon bound into her flesh, which makes her resistant to fire, possession and other forms of control or coercion (as the demon within her can usurp control if she loses consciousness, and, for a demon, seems pretty cooperative, since it's bound to her by choice, and has zero desire to return to whatever underworld it comes from...).

I decided to take a look at what was published in 1985, and one particular title stood out to me. There are very few references to it, so if anyone here has read this series, please let me know if it is good as the covers make it out to be.
Spanner- There was a short-lived science-fiction comic called Spanner's Galaxy, about a guy that was framed for a crime. It is not clear from the references when or where this was set, but I think a Star-Lord type character would be fun for 2018 Earth-1.

I remember ads for it. It's one of a number of short-lived science fiction series that DC published back in the day, that were pretty much in their own self-contained continuity. I remember a bunch of them from Who's Who.

I've got the first issue of it, and I remember it being a near-future (or at least that's the dateline they used). Since it was published in '85, it's possibly happening now! The issue had a framing narrative in the form of an interview, so Spanner had been caught at some point. The issue pretty much dealt with him as a kid. A conflict between his dad and some others over a weapon resulted in two of them arriving at his father's farm when he was alone. In a nice switch, that's just when Spanner has an accident, and the two save him and transport him away for treatment. Spanner (I'm sure he has a first name, but I can't remember it) learns how to "castle" which is a sort of teleportation, but one that leaves another in your place. It works with items too. Spanner also gets some training in the sort of weapon that was at the heart of the argument his dad had.

Misfortune: He is the son of Doctor Destiny by an unknown mother. Misfortune's powers are gravity manipulation and he has competent knowledge of the occult. . He is raised on another planet and only comes to Earth when he discovers he is given some objects from his father. He comes into conflict with our new Infinity Inc because those objects are in their trophy room! I see this character as an anti-hero who could join up with the villain son of Superman that thoth lad came up with.

Oh wow, I'd heard of 'castling' in superhero games referencing a form of teleportation that exchanged material at the transport/arrival sites (so that the teleporter wouldn't make an boom or pop sound when they teleported, as air was displaced), but I'd never seen it in a comic before! It's also a neat potential tactic in some circumstances, as one could teleport into the ocean and leave a man-shaped bit of water to slosh to the ground in their departure point. With sufficient life-support and handy nasty environments, one could even teleport into a toxic or dangerous environment and leave behind a toxic/dangerous 'parting gift' for those at your departure point. (Being able to teleport to the depths of the ocean would be one such nasty surprise, as the water that would be castling into your old position would be under millions of tons of pressure, so much so that it is incapable of freezing, despite being colder than the temperature at which water freezes, so you'd teleport out and cause an explosion of water that freezes instantly into shards of ice flying in all directions!). Fun stuff.

From brief reading about the series, apparently it features anthropomorphic horse knights, and "castling" is their main trick.
