The first Lynx died. I'm guessing the one in Red Robin is new as I've never really read Robin.
Amos Fortune got shot point blank in the face at the end of that fill-in arc of JLA before Robinson came on.
Spellbinder died in Infinite Crisis, she was gunned down.
Reactron died when they blew up New Krypton. HE was the bomb. Neutron died in Salvation Run.
Believe me, when you saw Rising Sun at the end of Dance, chances are he is dead. Penny Dreadful died in C4J.
Well he IS a time traveller, you never know.
I just said reborn, it doesn't mean anything. Sorry.
The Batman villain, he got his face bashed on the Crime Bible by Bruno Mannheim, who then ate him.
Yeah, Liberty was killed by Assassin.
Oh yeah, you're right in terms of Disruptor 2.
Oh yeah. No, he died in Blackest Night off-panel.
Fury III was Erik Storn from Luthor's Infinity Inc. He was also called Amazing Woman because... you don't wanna know.
Shelly Gaynor, the new Whip, died in Seven Soldiers #0.
The Hangmen faked their deaths, came back in Final Crisis: Revelations asking Libra to kill the Titans, and then the Spectre killed them.
I don't think all the members of the Demolition Team are dead.
Toy died this week in Doom Patrol #11.

I think PopArt Lad's decades-old prediction is true: In the future (our present), everyone in the DCU will be dead for 15 minutes.
The childhood friend Exnihil never had.

This thread serves to explain why I don't really feel anything at all when a DC character dies or is brought back to life at least 90% of the time.

Thing is...Marvel is not any better really. Not trying to start something, but Marvel has been on a role lately as well. And let's not forget the Scourge saga in Cap all those years ago.

^Absolutely, I'm not saying Marvel is better or worse. Marvel for a long period of time was certainly the worst offender among the Big 2. But that has changed in recent years it seems, as since Didio has come on board for DC, the company's integrity in this regard (gratuitous killing of heroes) has declined sharply.

Thinking back, can you pin it down (for Marvel) to getting worse when Marvel Knights started?

I don't think Joe Q & Marvel Knights are to blame for Marvel's woes in the same way Didio is. I feel Marvel has been that way for a long time. If anything, I'm surprised at how much restraint Marvel shows now that DC has surpassed them in this kind of gratuitous storytelling, because I would have figured years ago they'd just one-up DC some more and go even more gratuitous. Of course, that didn't stop Jeph Loeb from trying to go that route in the Ultimate Universe but I dropped all of that so I'm not 100% knowledgeable about what is going on. I guess I just always expected better from DC. I feel let down. Like the good one turned bad and not just bad, but *really* bad.

I feel bad for Loeb. His Batman stories are about the Holy Grail of Batman stories, and then I've heard about this whole Ultimatum thing...
I'm starting to think pod-people are invading, and their first victims were Loeb and Robinson.

But I couldn't remember their names so I didn't want to add them yet.
