There's a thread over at the DC message boards on the topic of readers voting for the Legion Leader again, they even have Paul Levitz mailing address so you can send him a postcard,so I thought a poll on
Legion World might be a good idea.

The idea of fans getting to vote is appealing, but I bet it's unlikely to happen again. The business is just too different from what it once was.

Also, I've been gone for so long that I can't imagine picking even one of the characters I'm familiar with on this list-- at this point. I'd want to, y'know, actually read some of the series and see what they're like nowadays... first.

So I voted "Other." shrug

I voted for Brainy,in hopes of Levitz having him do something that brings back the Pre-Crisis Kara Zor-el into the new/old Legion continuity.

I voted Night Girl. Why? I'd like to see how one of the founders of the Subs could lead the big time Legion. And yes, I am aware of Polar Boy's leadership run.

I almost voted for Night Girl, but her (possibly) close association with Cosmic Boy made it seem too chummy. So I went for the long shot Invisible Kid II. It would be good to have anyone new as leader.

I'd also like to find out who was leading the team in the gap. Did Cos move in because things were a mess? The founders seemed to be sticking pretty close together throughout Lo3W.

I voted Black Witch just because it would take the Legion in a very different, and perhaps interesting, way.

I wanted to vote for Wildfire & Dawnstar so I can hear more about their star-crossed relationship, but the path didn't lead to a shared leadership. I voted for Duplicate Damsel, as she was one of the first Legionnaires, her new power needs attention, and her multiplicity is rife with possible conflict.

Imra, Iron-Butt the Shameless Hussy, Ardeen-Ranzz is the perfect choice!

Proving that you can lead by committee.

Think about the micro-managing, though-- Lu could send a duplicate of herself with every member on every mission!

I'd like to get acquainted with all the members in this version before committing to a vote. Given the way things are going that'll be... oh, say 2012.

Duplicate Damsel would indeed be an interesting choice,as she could be everywhere at once.

I chose Bouncing Boy because I'm crying out for someone NEW to be put in charge of leading this team, and I don't think he's ever led the main team has he? Despite proving his chops as trainer at the Legion Academy.

Tinya.

I do want to see Ayla lead the team (and totally show up her brother at it), but Tinya seems even more suited to the task, and has been a Legionnaire longer. (Then again, so has Lu, but I'm more attached to the idea of Tinya as leader.)

I voted Colossal Boy. I hate the big/strong guys being treated as just the muscle sometimes. smile

BUT I would love to see Bouncing Boy if he grows a beard again and gets a new costume. wink

I voted for Imra, but that was entirely sentimental as I haven't read any of this current incarnation. I think it's interesting that she's in the lead here, but didn't have any votes on the DC Message board list.

I cast my vote for Polar Boy. I would imagine that under the retroboot, his previously shown term is no longer cannon.

While I wasn't the biggest fan of the recent Action/Lo3W plotlines, I was still impressed with just how much Polar Boy believes in the Legion. From an in-story perspective I'm that wouldn't go unnoticed by his team-mates.

I think Jeckie should have a turn after her spell during the Magic Wars was retconned away but... I voted for Quislet on the simple grounds that the leader has to show up occasionally.

A leader election with Quislet/Dawnstar/Tyroc/Night Girl all options is a dream come true after all those years of poor imitation Legions!!!!

I voted for Colossal Boy as well, but I think Dawnstar or Tellus would also be a good choice.

In the age of the Internet, I think it would be easier now more than ever to have a quality Legion election including the readers. The last time fans were directly involved, there was no Internet!

Shady was running for leader of Legion Prime before the retroboot.

Phantom Girl 10% (3)
Saturn Girl 14% (4)
Sensor Girl 10% (3)

The poll comes down at mid-night tomorrow, looks like Imra's got a narrow lead over Tinya and Jeckie.
