Wonderful artwork. Thanks for sharing.

The individual faces really do look different. Do you have in mind actual people when you draw them, Barry, or just make up a face? I thought of that myself. This is the first time I've really ever seen Gim, Cos, Jo and the rest look so different face-wise. It's really refreshing!

Thanks again all! For the faces, I don't have any actual people in mind when I draw them - but I do have very specific ideas for how I think each one should look and it does become much clearer (at least in my own mind) as I get to feel I really 'know' the character. I am very happy to hear you say you can see clear differences as it's something I do aim for. I think am becoming pretty comfortable with most of the characters at this point - there are one or two I still feel I'm struggling to get just right... but at least I think I know what I'm doing wrong with them now!

I swear the only thing I see wrong is that there isn't enough of it. Really. We've seen some incredible art on the Legion from time to time and your's is right up there with the very best. I'm starting to wonder if you're going take over Jim Sherman's claim to fame for doing the most beautiful Legion art ever. Damned nice.

If that is a Dominator that would be really cool! And regarding my comment about obscure characters I am a fan of Infectious Lass, Gas Girl, and Molecule Man. There isn't anything more fun than kicking Dominator ass!

Hate to disappoint some of you, but that lizard guy is DEFINITELY an old biology teacher of mine (I thought he'd be retired by now).
Still, on second thought, he was a Dominator then...

Gary, Barry (beautiful job, by the way) or anyone who's up on this sort of Netiquette:
What are the "rules" on reproducing stuff like this? I'd love to take that pencil drawing and run it in APA-LSH (one of the Legion APAs) for those members who haven't made it here yet or (GASP!!) the one or two who don't have a computer. Would that be OK, or do you prefer to keep it "in house"?

Barry, I just wanted to say how great it is that you're so active in this community. It really helps build extra excitement for this comic, and helps bring us a little closer to it.

Ok, I'm officially nixing the 'dominator' theory. The description on the DC comics site is 'The red-hot new series by Mark Waid, Barry Kitson and Art Thibert continues! On the edge of the universe, Lightning Lad and Saturn Girl come across a deadly super-powered team that may be the harbinger of a threat that will being the entire United Planets down.' Hmm!

"deadly super-powered team"? I really hope the idea that it's the Lallorian team we came to love years ago is wrong too. Duplicate Boy was always a favorite of mine, I hope like heck he hasn't been turned to "the dark side". I could see it happening to Evolvo, after his time with McCauley in the Work Force it sort of fits with my current vision of him but not Dupe. Maybe we're going to see the Khundish Legionnaires triumphant return as an opponents to the modern day Legionnaires. You know those Khunds, big, mean and always out to get Ambassador Relnic. Still though, Barry likes to give us new aliens so there's not a lot of chance to recognize them from their previous incarnation (if there were any). I'm actually figuring Mark has a whole new galactic conspiracy in mind for us. Partially because he knows that if it turns out to be Darkseid (again) we're going to burn him at the stake and partially because he promised NEW villians. -grasping at straws segment- So does that guy in Dream Girl's vision in #2 look kind of like Lar Gand to anybody besides me?

so are you saying, Lar is evil in this Threeboot universe and is on a crusade?
Or maybe someone is using his image, as maybe seeder of worlds to form a crusade. You know the sort of thing, evil leaders corrupting noble ideas and fooling the people.
either way I hope not.
Lar is one of those characters that should, like Superman, always be on the side of the good guys.
Given my second scenario that would mean either Lar is gone for good, (cant have your Gods returning can you) or would so change his personality as to make him a different character. (imagine 1,000 years in the phantom zone and then seeing all the death and destruction done in your name, could make a daxamite mighty angry)
Faithfull

Yet, one way to bring Lar back would be to make him a charismatic "messiah" figure who's intent on bringing down the corrupt U.P. He's not evil in the conventional sense of the word, but his actions nevertheless threaten to spark an interstellar war, which forces the Legion to oppose him. On a similar note, I was thinking maybe the "deadly super-team" in issue #5 provides an opening for the first rogue Legionnaire story. Somebody defects from the LSH and joins them, but this time it isn't a hoax to infiltrate the bad guys (or is it?). In fact, the guy Dreamy augured could be behind this other team.

Well that IS just a guess, Far. Although the idea of someone being heroic but still being wrong headed isn't all that far fetched. Lar can be a pretty deep character with all the history and legend surrounding him since the "World Seeder" Annual. Tromium has pretty well stated my thoughts too on that concept. It could make for a heartbreaking storyline if that's the way Waid takes it yet imagine the intense reaction of DC fans if that turned out to be the case.
I really do figure that's somebody else but the idea hit me and I had to share.
