That they were, though I think they would have been big had they not stopped touring.

Yay! Halfway there now, Belinda. Just tell me who the artist is, and the thread's yours.

I know (I own two of the artist's books), but this one should go to Belinda.

It was Julian Cope. He's mad, bad and very very fab!
Here's another easy one:
I can feel the earth begin to move I hear my needle hit the groove And spiral through another day I hear my song begin to say Kiss me where the sun don’t shine The past was yours But the future’s mine You’re all out of time

He's recorded not one, not two, but seven of my favorite albums: Peggy Suicide, Interpreter, 20 Mothers, Saint Julian, Jehovahkill, Fried, and World Shut Your Mouth. Which of his books do you have, OM? I have Head-On, Repossessed, and Krautrocksampler.

The first two. Great reading, especially the first.
I need to get a hold of Krautrocksampler, especially since I love a lot of the bands he covers. I've heard there's an updated version either out or on the way.

An updated Krautrocksampler? Cool.
Of course, what I'd really like is a sequel to Repossessed. It would be so great to know more about what was going on in his life during the making of his 90s albums. I'd especially like to know the details about the wild incident with one of his band-members (Rooster, IIRC) which got them all permanently banned from Japan.
