I love this band, it's like listening to old Radiohead mixed with Mozart at times.

Heavy decibels are playing on my guitar We got vibrations coming up from the floor We're just listening to the rock that's giving too much noise Are you deaf, you wanna hear some more

Just Pyromania.
Def Leppard, Rock of Ages. And you are right Numf. I'm a heavy metal, hair band kid of the 80s.

80’s Metal-head.
Mmmm, that sounds familiar. (Can’t claim to be long-haired any more though!)
Floyd, Heart, Evanescence (listening to their live album as I type) and now AC/DC and Def Leppard. Very similar tastes indeed LL.
Anyway, as you no doubt realise you’re spot-on with the lyric, so, your go.

Definitely very similar tastes. So I'll try to go off base for this one. I'm the king of catastrophies, I'm so far gone, That deep down inside I think it's fine by me, I'm my own worst enemy

Okay, here's a bit more:
I've come to my senses, That I've become senseless, I could give you lessons on how to ruin your friendships, Every last conviction, I smoked them all away, I drank my frustrations down the drain, out of the way, So I sit and wait and wonder, "Does anyone else feel like me?" Someone so tired of their routines and disappearing self-esteems

Here is the full song:
I've come to my senses, That I've become senseless, I could give you lessons on how to ruin your friendships, Every last conviction, I smoked them all away, I drank my frustrations down the drain, out of the way, So I sit and wait and wonder, "Does anyone else feel like me?" Someone so tired of their routines and disappearing self-esteems,
I'll sing along, Yeah with every emergency, Just sing along, I'm the king of catastrophies, I'm so far gone, That deep down inside I think it's fine by me, I'm my own worst enemy
I could be an expert on co-dependency, I could write the best book on underage tragedy, I've been spending my time at the local liquor store, I've been sleeping nightly on my best friends kitchen floor, So I sit and wait and wonder, "Does anyone else feel like me?" I'm so over-dosed on apathy and burnt out on sympathy.
Let the meaning slip away Lost my faith in another day, Self deprication seems okay, I never thought I'd make it anyway
I'm my own worst enemy
The name of the song is not used in the lyrics.

The song was by the group Less Than Jake. It is called "The Science of Selling Yourself Short".
Here's the next one:
Feel the magic -feel it floating in the air But it’s fear - and you’ll hear It calling you beware

No idea, but it sounds as if it should have been written by a certain Mr. Ronnie James "Short-arse" Dio. Nah, it can't be - three lines and no mention of rainbows nor dragons.

That's because I knew including the line(s) with rainbows or dragons would be a dead giveaway. It is a Dio song. Now, which one is it?

Next round should go to Numf just for pulling that one out of the air.
But I'll guess "Rainbow in the Dark" for the heck of it.

It was "Rainbow in the Dark". And if you are okay with giving it to Numf, that's okay by me.

Absolutely. I can't say I would have gotten it had Numf not invoked him to begin with.

Cheers.
Going back to the times before I discovered how much fun sweaty rock’n’roll could be. This was a single in the UK, where it reached no 6. Although four singles from the album were released in the USA this was not one of them. Perhaps because it wouldn’t have had the same resonance of desire / longing.
Sometimes I look up high, And then I think there might, Just be a better life Away from all we know. That’s where I wanna go Out on the wild side.

Jellyfish are the band. Can't remember the bloody song now, Alan used to play that album to death, it has the 'When the king is half undressed' and 'I wanna stay home on it'.
Was it 'All I ever wanted' ?
