1. Wildfire vs. Lightning Lad (Proty persona) - Wildfire can blast him right down to ...well protoplasm before the lightning bolts can damage the suit. Winner: Wildfire

2. White Witch vs. Leviathan (Gim)- Sorry Gim, Mysa's got plenty of spells to take you out before you can get within striking range. Winner: Mysa

3. Bouncing Boy vs. Insect Queen (Lana)- Bouncing Boy just needs one ricochet off of her to knock her out of the ring and out of the competition. Winner: Bouncing Boy

4. Superboy (Kon-El) vs. Magnetic Kid (Pol)- Pol can magnetically grab Kon by the earrings, nipple rings and ...ahem... various other piercings and toss him clear across the planet. Winner: Pol


GROUP B – THE FANTASTIC INCREDIBLERS

1. Gas Girl vs. Power Boy (Jed)- Jed's gotta breath. Winner: Gas Girl by a knock out(gas)

2. Streaky the Super-Cat vs. Kid Quantum (Jazmin)- Streaky's super speed lets her get in the knock out punch (paw-unch??) before Jazmin can even figure out where Streaky is. Winner: Streaky

3. Tyroc vs. Element Lad (preboot) - Jan changes the oxygen in Tyroc's throat to helium. Screams become ineffective as they rise from basso to contralto and it's over. Winner: Element Lad

4. Tellus vs. Duplicate Boy - Tellus mentally instructs Ord to imitate Arms Fall Off Boy's power then he levitates the various pieces out of the ring. Winner: Tellus


GROUP C – THE MIGHTY INVINCIBLES

1. Shrinking Violet (preboot) vs. Superboy (Kal-El) - Vi gets blown away and out of contention by a mighty blast of superbreath. Winner: Kal-El

2. Invisible Kid (Lyle) vs. XS: Lyle stays invisible until XS runs out of steam then applies the coup de gras. Winner: Lyle

3. Mentalla vs. Sensor - Sensor's illusion convinces Mentalla that she's battling the Emerald Empress & her Eye again. Mentalla runs for her life. Winner: Sensor by default.

4. Ultra Boy vs. Spark - Jo impassively takes every bolt Ayla can muster then knock's her out for the count. Winner: Ultra Boy


GROUP D – THE AVENGING DEFENDERS

1. Chemical King vs. Element Lad (postboot)- Every element degenerates. While Element Lad tries to find one that Condo can't affect, Condo speeds up his own metabolism and knocks E Lad out. Winner: Chemical King.

2. Brainiac 5 vs. Dawnstar - Just prior to the start of the match, Dawnstar bets Brainey that he can't come up with a better propulsion system design for the Legion Cruisers "within two hours". While he begins to "zone out" as he calculates various formulae, Dawny sends him flying. Winner: Dawny

3. Saturn Girl vs. Calamity King - Just as Imra is about to blast CK, the crowd parts in front of her & she spots Jo. For some odd reason she starts remembering & reliving the most salacious of the "mental therapy" sessions she created in Jo's mind. While she enjoys herself being a hussy, CK knocks her out. Winner: Calamity King

4. Supergirl vs. Gates - Pound, splat, end of story. Winner: Supergirl

--Kal can use all his powers at the same time. Unless Jo hides behind lead or uncovers a vein of kryptonite, he's got no chance.

--Lyle's got no chance against a telepath

1. Superboy (Kal-El)- Sorry Jo, but one power at a time can't top all of them at the same time.
2. Invisible Kid (Lyle) - Lyle's spying & espionage skills come into play here and he wins the battle of the deceivers.

1. Chemical King - Condo wins the battle of the CKs
2. Brainiac 5 - Kara can't do anything to hurt her Brainey so she forfeits.

If i remember right, heat weakens magnetism. Wildfire can get pretty hot. My vote goes to Wildfire but Magnetic Kid had a pretty respectable showing.

2. White Witch vs. Bouncing Boy
As much as I like Chuck, I can't really think of any scenario where he would come out on top. Gotta go with White Witch


GROUP B – THE FANTASTIC INCREDIBLERS

1. Gas Girl vs. Element Lad (preboot)
Doesn't matter what gas she turns into, E-Lad can just change her to something else.

2. Kid Quantum (Jazmin) vs. Tellus
I think that a mental attack may be the only way to defeat Kid Quantum. Tellus's telekinesis could hold off the affects of Kid Q's quantum powers long enough for him to mentally attack Jazmin and give him the win.


GROUP C – THE MIGHTY INVINCIBLES

1. Superboy (Kal-El) vs. Ultra Boy
Piece of cake - Supes wins

2. Invisible Kid (Lyle) vs. Sensor
I don't see how I-Kid's power could have any affect whatsoever on Sensor. She should be able to sense him no matter how much stealth he uses. He, however, could do very little to avoid a nasty tail swipe. Winner - Sensor


GROUP D – THE AVENGING DEFENDERS

1. Chemical King vs. Calamity King
Well, calamities occur all over the place, but C-King is able to slow the reactions with his powers. Calamity King

2. Brainiac 5 vs. Supergirl
Awww, a lover's quarrel? B-5 is pretty much useless when up against tall, powerful blonds. supergirl wins easlily.

OK, I'm really curious as to why some of you vote the way you do. Now I know that this is little more than picking favorites or fun picks (otherwise Saturn Girl would still be around and Calamity king would be long gone), but how can you possibly pick I-Kid over Sensor? He can turn invisible, while she can detect illusions of which invisibility would probably apply. She is perfectly suited to defeat someone like Lyle. He shouldn't stand a chance. So what's the story? What are you thinking? What the heck could he possibly do to the snake? Please explain so I can find something more worthwhile to obsess about.

BUT.... It does not matter what Jan changes her into, she can change herself into something else. My bet is that she can control the transformation of her own body faster then Jan can. I imagine several rapid transformations, with Gas Girl slowly edging closer to Jan with each round, until she eventually overtakes him.

I don't think that Sensor is at quite the level of telepathy that she can sence unseen minds around her. Imra, at 12th level telepathy, maybe. But Jeka is said to be 10th level. She can lock onto a mind and alter its perceptions, but she first has to find that mind.

Think of the mesmerizing snakes of popular mythology with their "look deeply into my eyes." How do you effect eyes you can't find?

while Invisible Kid has enough experience to guard his thought or ability to fool Sensor by masking his thought. He used to be a super-spy.

Everybody seems to be picking Chuck over Mysa. My thought was that Mysa would need to concentrate to cast a spell, even one she had preparred before battle. If Chuck can move (i.e bounce) fast enough, bouncing around and at her, he can keep her off balance and unable to cast an effective spell long enough to take her out.

Certainly, inthe next round Wildfire should be able to knock her on her butt with a quick energy blast before she can get a spell off.
