One person has guessed one correct character (in the correct position).

I think those Blue Ribbon digests were mostly reprints, but this one had a wrap-around story that used the "Colossal Failure" as an extended flashback in the middle of it. The original story was written by Paul Levitz and drawn by Carmine Infantino, of all people.

And one of the rare Legion stories that seems to spotlight Colossal Boy too! I'm annoyed that I've never read it!

My guess -

Blok is patient and Dawnstar is impatient?

My second guess - Blok as patient and Wildfire as impatient.

Hint: The characters in this feature were listed alphabetically, and these characters were one right after the other.

Lightning Lad as impatient and Lightning Lass/Light Lass as patient?

IIRC, the beginning of the story had Marte Allon awarding the active Earth-born Legionnaires (Gim, Dirk, Val and Wildfire). Then she gets turned to glass; Gim has the flashback to the original Adventure story; and they stop the bad guy at the end. It was quite a good story, but you didn't miss all that much since the original Adventure story took up the bulk of it.

Chameleon Boy patient and Colossal Boy impatient?

There is a bit more to the last chapter, but that's the gist of it.

And no, it's not Lightning Lad / Light Lass either. Still, only one of the two characters has been guessed by anyone.

Karate Kid patient and Lightning Lad impatient?

Hmmm if the flashback is such a central part of the story it sounds like the type of tale that might not appear in the Archives. I might have to hit up eBay for it.

I want to say that's actually mentioned early in the Adventure era, but I'm not completely certain...

Is banyo fruit ice cream one of them or am I misremembering?

It's not one of the 2 I was thinking of, although if you can cite a panel then I'll accept it as an answer.

I don't have the issue to hand but (I think) I remember a scene early in the Reboot where Tinya (I think) and... Luornu (I think) were enjoying some blue banyo fruit (I think) ice cream in the Legion commissary and complimenting Tenzil on making it.

Obviously my memory of this scene is not too strong so just ignore me if it doesn't ring a bell with anyone else.
