Some good lookin' covers!!!

Obviously Jeckie's on Orando...

The Action cover appears to be a grown up "Legion of Subs". Fire Lad, Stone Boy, Chlorophyll Kid and Rainbow Girl? Looking back on it, I'm surprised she and Color Kid never hooked up... RainbowGirl ColorKid

As for JSA #13, I always loved the DC covers that showed the headshots of the team members (my favorites were from the All Star Squadron/JLA crossover years ago!! Captain Carrot spoofed it during their series as well, with the Justa Lotta Animals x-over). Need to see more of these DC!

And the Insect Queen issue of Superman just got creepy. Wonder if it was her influence on Kal, or if there was some Red-K involved. It's turned him to a giant insect before... smile

And can I just say it now? Booster Gold rocks!!!! According to the preview (now posted on Newsarama, this issue is called "Blue and Gold" (part 1). Wahoo!!! Or should I say "Bwahahahaha"????

Actually, that might be Color Kid, re-booted as a woman (Color Queen?).

It's not necessarily a reboot. He had a gender switch once before- maybe it's like a recurring cough. You just can't shake it.

Those are some impressive images.

Crossed my mind too Chaim, especially since there is a preboot precedent for that (the Legion of Substitute-Heroes one shot had Color Kid change genders due to a virus from Infectious Lass).

But her uniform is very much pre-boot Rainbow Girl, so that's what I'm thinking!

Who is Rainbow Girl??? I can't remember where she appeared... my first thought that it might be Night Girl, there being no other female Subs next to Drura...

But hey... the SUBS!!! This is so cool!!! I don't care if this is the "original" Legion or a very close version, I want more, more, more of it - I really hope they don't mess up the story.

The Manapul cover is way cool as well, by the way. As far as I am concerned, the Threeboot under Shooter will get a decent chance as well. If both versions are written well, I'll stay on board for both.

Rainbow Girl was rejected in ADVENTURE COMICS #309 (the Jungle King issue, June 1963), without displaying any powers but recieving a flight belt. Her powers were later revealed to be emotion manipulation or somesuch in the pages of WHO'S WHO IN THE LEGION OF SUPER-HEROES (her only other appearance in a comic to date).

According to http://members.shaw.ca/legion_of_super-heroes/rejected_applicants/

Rainbow Girl could turn into four different forms, with super-heat powers in her red form, super-cold powers in her blue form, 'super-brightness' powers in her yellow form, and, the reason she was rejected, kryptonite radiation in her green form.

Despite Element Lad being able to whip up a bazillion tons of Kryptonite with a wave of his hand, the addition of a girl who could turn to Kryptonite was deemed too dangerous for Superboy and she got shown the door.

The Jeckie LOSH cover has me the most excited. I wanted to see a fallout regarding her and Orando for a while now.

I have to say I'm not very excited about the Action cover. The Subs looking all mean?! Eh. I assume things will get brighter after this arc but it just doesn't sit right with me.

JSA #13 is instant classic cover for me, btw. smile

Definitely. This has been one of several interesting additions from Waid that he's not done much with. It will be interesting to see what's going on with the princess and if she's going to roll over and welcome Terror Firma to the team after the genocide of her world.

Also I guess the Subs are suppossed to be the bright spark in the future since they are standing in front of the Superman logo. smile

I was worried they might be bad guys.

That's fantastic, Mr. Manapul. I think the final choice was the best one. Thank you. smile

Thanks Francis! It's those behind-the-scenes looks that have made the new Legion book come to life for me in ways past series hadn't.

Not sure why they had an image for the JSA #1 Trade again. Maybe a re-solicit. There wasn't any text that I could find.

Me too. Frank, while I prefer his art to many others out there, tends to make his faces (mouths and eyes, in particular) look pretty sinister. He'd draw a *fantastic* Joker, I'd imagine, but a person who *isn't* supposed to have a maniacal grin and wide staring eyes ends up looking a little manic...

Hmm, the solicitation text suggests they might be the "villains". They are also called "Rejects" which suggests the girl is Rainbow Girl but the other guys are the Subs. What gives?
