Name all planets that have been the homeworld of more than one Legionnaire.

Winath, Earth, Xanthu, Rimbor, Khundia, Daxam, Krypton, Braal, Naltor and Cargg ( on that last one)

That's all I came up with Reboot. Though Krypton technically only has one, since Kara was born on a chunk of the exploded planet, rather than on the planet itself.

Okay, which of these is the Odd One Out - and what's the SPECIFIC reason for picking that one as the odd one out, rather than another character?

While true, that's not the reason I'm looking for (since among other things, that applies to several other characters).

It's not to do with them inventing the source of their powers is it? Not sure if that's true of Gates but it's certainly true of Kid Quantum and Lyle. That wouldn't explain why you had specifically chosen Cos as the odd one out though...

Nope. And it's Pol, NOT Rokk who's the fourth one. I couldn't find a pic of his unique suit...

Gates is the only one of those four that DIDN'T die while on active duty. Lyle was killed by Validus; Pol sacrificed himself in order to open the mystical lock during Magic Wars; and Kid Quantum 1 was (retconned) the first Legionnaire killed in action.

Close. Again, plenty of Legionnaires who haven't died on active duty. There is something which is (to my knowledge) unique about the odd one out which directly relates to what makes him the odd one out.

I think I need to give an example here.

If the four pictures were Tellus, Kinetix, Quislet and Gates, the odd one out would be Kinetix, because none of them are humanoid, except for Kinetix, who was given some non-humanoid features by Mysa. (NB: this may not be specific to Zoe, it's just as an example).

And remember, Vee was close, he just didn't get the right reason for picking the OOO.

Ah! Gates is the odd one out, because there was never another Legionnaire with his name, unlike James (Jazmin), Lyle (Jacques) and Pol (the spy Magnetic Kid from ADV # 337).

Gates is the only legion member to be Gates.
There were two difrent members calling themselves the other names.

I think you misunderstood my "reason" part - it IS death-related. It's just the bit after "except for X, who..." that Vee got wrong. And I'm playing off a fairly obscure point to boot

They all died in the line of duty, except for Gates whose death was foreshadowed in the Legends of the Dead Earth Annual.

Kid Q, Invisible Kid, and Magnetic Kid were all succeeded by another member with the same power after their deaths. Gates wasn't.


Cosmic Boy did rejoin after Magnetic Kid's death didn't he?

Not until after the Five Year Gap, and then he was powerless.

Nope (I actually doublechecked the DE annuals to be sure they didn't contradict what I'm thinking of, and Gates doesn't even appear in any of the flashbacks).

It's got something to do with ages too... (and I possibly need to upgrade the obscurity factor...). And Vee's first guess remains the nearest yet.
