Since Gates was assumed dead with the Lost, I count that as the same 'incident.' I sawconcern of Gates' whereabouts in The 1-3, but no assumption of death. I rule it not to count.

I can't recall Reflecto or Nightwind definitively defined as members during the gap, or that Reflecto (other than Kal/Jo version) ever died. I do recall Nightwind's death, but I don't see evidence that she was ever a Legionnaire. If you can supply a story source (vs letter column or RPG info), I'll count them, but otherwise, no.

EDE-
Nemesis I hadn't considered, but he was briefly a member, and was later killed. So he counts.

Postboot Gim IS one of the five on my list.

So Ded still leads 10
Reboot and Drake still tied at 9 (pending further information for 'boot)
and EDE sneaks up the side with 3.

I have four names on my list, and it's time for hints:

All four are male, long-time members, and all four have had some sort of incarnations in at least 2 of the 3 'boots.

Three have each already been accurately cited for other death-y stories.

All four instances occured before End of an Era.

Re-looking at Craig's post, I see he did make an accurate guess - via graemlin.

Kal-El/Superboy was one of the four - the one not previously cited (so the other three have had multimple death-counts).

Three left to go.

I was going by the Help File. Since it gives specific dates for both of them (Nightwind - Dates of Legion membership: March 17, 2990 - July 6, 2992 (disbanding); Reflecto: Dates of Legion membership: May 28, 2991 - July 7, 2991), I presume it comes from the TMK RPG thing. Rats.

i'm totally stumped now.....though Kent i would consider Nightwind as a fair answer, i think reboot sould get credit for that one

YES! Thought dead in #10, Brainy didn't conclude he'd been lost in time until #14!

Since you're 'competing' against 'boot, and you feel Nightwind counts, I'll count her, but I still need proof before I count Reflecto.

We're at a point where heads are sratching, I see, and there's not too much point in dragging out much longer.

My last two hints:
One's perceived death resulted from false reports, but tied into an actual death more than a dozen issues later.

The other's death technically happened before he ever became a legionnaire, but legionnaires considered his death as one of their own.

Whether anyone gets these or not, I'll call this one closed by Monday evening (probably somewhere around 11 Eastern time). If we have a tie at that point, I'll give it to the defending leader, currently Reboot.

'Boot's answer of Reflecto should count. The Stig Ah version of Reflecto was a gap-era member. Hence his inclusion in the Legion of Super-Zombies during later v4.

The other answers are Sun Boy, who was believed dead before his actual death in v4, and Erg-1, who was believed dead between his initial tryout and actually joining the Legion.

ERG-1 during his tryout was mentioned earlier Eryk. I too thought that was who Kent was referring to, but I went back and checked all the guesses...

I see Reflecto was among the reanimated dead legionaires, so I'll concede the point; Reboot's up to 12.

EDE, you're correct about Sun Boy, but Erg-1 was already accounted for, as Craig noticed.

With Reboot holding a two-corpse lead over Dedman, and only one dead legionnaire on my list,

I ask Dedman (or Drake, who's now been absent from this contest for a full week now):

The missing one was Valor, killed out-of-time by Glorith, and his SW6 duplicate had to fill his timeline-niche (rather paradoxically, since there had to be a Vaor to make a duplicate of).
