How about Lightning Lad and Saturn Girl as part of Legionnaires 3?

I was counting Inferno, although now that you mention it, I am not sure if she was a Legionnaire. The only one you missed was Jimmy Olsen. Anyway, you got enough of them. Take it away, Blacula.

Which 'Angel of Death' Legionnaire was present, or in the vicinity, at the deaths of all the members who died post-boot?

Has to be Garth or Cham. Imra's been ruled out, and they're the only other two who were both on both the Tangleweb and Lost teams. Depends on how you count "vicinity" - Cham was in another galaxy by the time Garth died after all! But Garth wasn't there when Jan blew Monstress apart

I would think Reboot is correct in guessing Cham.

He was on the mission where Kid Quantum was killed, was among the Legionnaires transported back to Earth with Gim when he died, and was present for both Monstress's murder as well as Live Wire's sacrifice.

Not forgotten any of the deaths - just who was present at the other deaths!

Now I've been able to check LSH v4 83; Garth wasn't on the Regelus team, Cham was, and Gim was dead before the teleport back to Legion Plaza - and that's the tie-breaker. Cham.

In terms of vicinity:

- KQ1: We see Garth running into the room, third in line behind Gim & Cos at the edge of the panel. But Imra was clearly close behind him, since she was there immediately to scan the corpse. Cham was on the base, but slicing open TW's cocoons elsewhere

- Apparition and Andromeda: None of them were particuarly close. Ultraboy was very close to Apparition, and Vi to Laurel, but neither had redebuted when KQ1 died, so they're out anyway. Cham was knocked out before either "died" and Garth & Imra were in the hospital, then @ Legion Plaza.

- Gim: Garth & Imra were both @ Legion Plaza when he died, but Cham was actually in-shot.

- Monstress: Cham & Imra were in the room, Garth on the radio

- Garth & Jan: Well, Garth, obviously, but Cham was already though the Threshold. Are you not counting Garth (resigned) or Jan (ummm... kicked out, I think we can safely say) as Legionnaires here? Or is it that the Jarth came back...

Well Chameleon was the correct answer as you had guessed. (Though I think Future understood what I was asking a little better.)

As far as the deaths -

Kid Quantum I : Chameleon was in the same small, spaceship as James when he was killed by Tangleweb.

Leviathan : Chameleon was standing a few yards from Gim when he made his sacrifice.

Monstress : Chameleon was standing just metres form Candi when she was obliterated.

Live Wire and Element Lad : Chameleon was the last person (along with Ultra Boy) that Garth spoke to before jumping out of the doorway to his and Jan's doom.

Obviously in a couple of the examples I use the term 'vicinity' kinda loosely but I think its still a fair question.

I didn't think it was that hard a question either. Obviously the death of Monstress only left 3 possibilites as to who the character could be. And knowing that Jan didn't join the Legion until after James died meant that it had to be either Reep or Imra. Both were approximately as close to Garth when he made his leap, though Reep was the only one of the 2 concious and the last to talk to him, so it was Gim's death that held the key and as you discovered, Imra was back at base when it happened (as was Garth by the way), while Reep was right there... so there's our winner!

Moral of the story - Don't stand too close to Reep!

P.S. I didn't count Andromeda or Apparition since neither of them really died and (even though it wouldn't have changed the outcome) I like to think that 'Jarth' never happened!

By my count there are 23 Legionnaires from this era whom I'm sure have had at least one relative appear on-panel, and 7 who have not had any relatives appear at all. There are 3 more whom I can't be sure of either way. (Didn't count either Chuck or Superboy since they're only honorary.)

So name 23 reboot-era Legionnaires whose relatives we've seen, identify the relative and where for confirmation, and name 7 Legionnaires whose relatives we've never seen.

Good answer, Blacula. You got everybody in your "family seen" list right. As for the "no family seen list", you got the 7 I was sure of. The three whom I can't tell either way are there too, but I can tell you right now that Andromeda and M'Onel are two of those since I wasn't sure if they were still cousins this time around. So that leaves two people on that list whom I'm certain have had relatives on-panel.

Just thought I'd post my own notes on the "family seen" list for comparison.

Cosmic Boy: Mom(Ewa), dad(Hu) and Pol, quite a few times (the issues where Domain and the Elementals appeared, etc)

Saturn Girl: mom, dad and Jancel, when she went to Titan with Cos and Garth

Live Wire + Spark: aside from each other, Mekt and their parents have appeared quite a few times, and their aunt appeared in LW 4

Apparition: Cub, Winema, her husband Jo, her father (in the issue explaining her three bodies)

Triad: mom, dad and Granny Murlu, plus (if you'd count them) adoptive father RJ Brande, and adopted sibling Ferro

Laurel claimed he was her ancestor while she was dying of lead poisoning, and Brainy cut her off with "Are you sure? In the last millenium, Gand has become quite the common surname on Daxam" (she responds with a bratty "I know what I know, Dox")

Were Thom's parents in his Legends of the Legion spotlight?

Those were the two I had a feeling could be wrong in my answer EDE.

Though - could the Hive-mother, or whatever she was, be considered a relative of Shikari's? I can't remember how the social structure of her people worked. And how about that Kwai guy who got killed at the beginning of Legion Lost - boyfriend or brother? She seemed kinda broken up about it.

Probably mother & brother - they're insects, remember. Hive-mother = Queen.

EDE got it - Ultra Boy was one that you missed. Shikari was the other one; she mentioned later on in Legion Lost that the Kwai who were killed in the 1st issue were her "nest-kin", which I took to mean "relative". Star Boy I'm not sure of, since I don't have his Legends of the Legion issue.
