I realized a few hints ago that you're referencing the Command Kid story, but darned if I remember an Xral Energiod on the verge of turning dangerously orange. (And I don't have me coollection on hand to look it up.)

I just skimmed through the Command Kid story thanks to Chaim deciphering the hint, but couldn't finy a reference to anything about Xral of color save for all the "golden" objects in the story.

It's the penultimate moment in the story where Command Kid is about to infest the Legionnaires with his demon brethren. Once the Xral Energoid changes from pink to orange, the Legionnaires will be possessed. He's stopped thanks to Element Lad and Saturn Girl's arrival, and in particular Element Lad changing all of the equipment to gold.
I'll go ahead and give it to Chaim, since he figured out it was the Command Kid story...

I don't feel like I deserve the honor, but what the heck...
Who did Keith Giffen once draw into a panel though he was not instructed to do so by the script...forcing the writer to construct a whole unplanned storyline to explain it?

Legion Worlds NINE - wait, there's even more ongoing amazing adventures? Yup, and you'll only find them in the Bits o' Legionnaire Business Forum.

Harbinger is correct.
Drake, the answer to that is...partially. That subplot existed as early as LSH 298-299. The surprise appearance of Lyle Norg was in the last panel of the first story of LSH 311, which forced Paul Levitz to resolve it with a sequel to that story, but the teleportation-power subplot predated the Giffen surprise.

Cute trick question...most people would have racked their brains trying to think of a Karate Kid reference.
So I'll go ahead and offer up a Karate Kid reference: Who was Val partnered with on a mission during which he suffered a near-fatal internal injury that he never felt, due to his training to block out pain?

This was with Dream Girl, in S&LSH #201. She later foresaw the death of a Legionnaire in the monitor room, though it was actually just Val collapsing from his injury.

That's the one, Future.
I love this crowd. No story too insignificant, too obscure, to not be in someone's mind...

Too true, Chaim!
During End of an Era, many Legionnaires, their SW6 counterparts, and supporting characters were killed, wiped out of history, or replaced. Of all the Legionnaires & friends involved in this story, I can think of three that were not shown vanishing or killed. They simply disappeared between issues and weren't mentioned again, save for one.
So, my question: Which three Legionnaires vanished off-panel during End of an Era and which one of those three was later mentioned in passing?

I can think of adult Chameleon, SW6 Invisible Kid, Celeste Rockfish and Dragonmage. It was Dragonmage who was mentioned by the SW6 Imra in LSH 61.

Timber Wolf, Chemical King, Dawnstar, Magnetic Kid, Tellus, Nightwind (5YL), and Power Boy (5YL).
Colossal Boy temporarily attended during the LSV scandal, and Duo Damsel and Bouncing Boy were there as teachers.
