It would have to be somebody who joined after the first battle with the Five (since everyone except KQI was around for that), didn't participate in the battle with Mordru, wasn't at Tenazor, and didn't help mop them up after Timber Wolf's battle.
I'm guessing it's either Thunder (for whom I'm not sure about Tenazor) or Wildfire (for whom I'm not sure about the post-TW battle cleanup).

Hmm... that's right.
Okay, so I'm still leaning towards Thunder.

Oops! Sorry for being so late! EDE got it, KQ 1, Gear, Dreamer and Thunder were the four I was thinking of.
All other Legionnaires who joined before or at the time of the Chu Sting faced off agaisnt the Five, except Apparition, but then she faced Mano earlier. Umbra, Sensor, Magno, Monstress and Kid Quantum II took part in the Mordru/Eye battle, and Karate Kid and Ferro were on Tenazor-4. And Wildfire, Shikari and Timber Wolf faced the Five in Legion 15-16.
take it away, EDE!

Why was Tinya's preboot "death" a misfortune for Arn Strikl?

"And what lucky fashion designer is going to see his business shift into hyper-drive when his gown graces the lovely bride? It's Arn Strikl, who's come up with a flowing cream-colored silk stunner trimmed in violet blue lace. The hooded two-piecer is sure to set trends through the next millenium, especially with the blushing Tinya showing it off." Unfortunately for Arn, nobody got to see the lovely gown he made, due to the untimely demise of the beautiful bride.

Thanks Eryk! We know the Legion crossed time often to visit Superboy and Supergirl as a group, as most of their earliest appearances are in "threes". Who was the first Legionnaire we saw traverse time all by him/herself to visit Superboy, and why?

I believe it was Lightning Lad, back in Superboy #86.
The Legion witnessed Superboy pinned beneath Kryptonite with their spiffy time-viewer, and L.L. went back alone and exploded the rocks with lightning.
There was a running gag in that issue about how many of Superboy's closest friends or foes, such as Lana Lang or Lex Luthor, have L.L. for initials. Garth was obviously thrown in as another nod to this theme.

Hmm..if not Garth, then perhaps Star Boy, in Adventure #282? He needed Kal's help to find a villain in a copper pipe. Star Boy couldn't see through copper.

Future is correct, Garth was first in Superboy #86.
lance, that was the very next "Legion" appearance, so you were close. The Star Boy issue is more widely remembered I think, because Star Boy is involved in the whole story, whereas Garth makes a few headshots on a couple of pages in the Superboy issue and that's it. Take it away Future!

Thanks, Craig!
Off the top of my head, I can think of four fan-designed costumes that made actual in-canon appearances during the Adventure/Action back-up runs. These were all featured in the 'Fashions by Fans' three-page feature.
So, accordingly, a three-part question! Name those four members who wore fan-created costumes, which Legionnaire was the only one to keep said costume for any length of time, and which Legionnaire accompanied the remaining three on the sole mission their costumes were featured in?

Shadow Lass, Karate Kid, and Projectra all wore their fan designed costumes for one issue. Mon-El would be the one who accompanied them.
Imra's famous bikini was the fan design that lasted. Though I believe the long-term version of it was a slight redesign on the original.

EDE's correct, as always!
Though it went through a slight color change from red to pink, and lost a few of the white lines around the tops of the boots and gloves, Imra's famous 70's bikini was the only fan-designed uniform to last in Legion lore. The other three I can only assume were misses to then editorial or just a nod to the fans.
You're up, Eryk.

Future: Imra's famous 70's bikini was the only fan-designed uniform to last in Legion lore. Actually, that's not true. Duo Damsel's 70's costume (for the most part...the original fan design lacked gloves or boots) was designed by a fan named Nick Pascale. In fact, the planet Pasnic, in which the costume first appeared in a story (and played an important part in it) is named after him, and King Jonn is named after his father.

*Gasp*! You're right, cmk! And I should have thought of that as well! Especially since I think that the whole "split" costume design, while a neat idea, really should not have been used in the long term.

E-gads! CMK is also right...I saw it the other day while flipping through the Fashions pages and didn't think twice about it. I'm even a big Luornu fan, shame on me! A "my bad" from this direction. I'll leave it up to EDE whether or not he wants the question.

Which Legionnaire, at the age of seven, stuck his or her head in a dye tube, causing it to be "purple for a month"?
