I'll agree for the most part, but I think instead of Gim, the answer is...Imra! In the Adventure story that culminates in LL (first) death.

If you're thinking of Sun Boy from the Xennian evacuation story, I don't think he was just "suspected" of being unfit for duty. Actually, there's several instances of Lightning Lad being suspected of being unfit (The Concentrator story; the Super-Moby Dick) before his actual breakdown during v2, so I'd basically switch those two in cmk's answer.

It occurs to me that Matter-Eater Lad was not a Legionnaire when he ate the Miracle Machine. I wonder how picky lancesrealm is being in defining the terms of his question ...
"Gee, Brainy, what do you want to do tonight?" "The same thing we do every night, Bouncing Boy: try to take over the United Planets!!" They're B.B. and The Brain ...

Y'know, I love and hate list questions. People always come up with examples I haven't thought of. However, here were the answers I was thinking of.
3 who actually suffered some type of breakdown:
1) Lightning Lad - when Imra was missing and he quit being leader - sure seemed like a breakdown to me (arguably a little iffy.)
2) Brainiac 5 - Omega anyone?
3) Sun Boy - the old "space fatigue" story
2 who were suspected of becoming unfit:
1) Projectra, from the story Jim mentioned
2) Mon-El, from a short story involving Mon and Saturn Girl, where he mentioned he was afraid to be leader because he might break down again, although I don't recall him breaking down in the first place.
I would not have counted Tenzil, but not because he wasn't active. He doesn't count because his madness was not caused by stress or emotional issues, but by the alien energies in his body, i/e., physical source rather than emotional or mental.
Chaim got the most, so he's up.

Hmm, as I recall, wasn't Garth's problem actually caused by some sort of electrical problem in the brain or something hokie like that? Maybe I'm misremembering.

That sounds right to me too Eryk, but I wouldn't trust my mind as far as I could throw it...

Who was the first non-Legionnaire to be notified of Element Lad's re-election as Legion leader?

What three objects did Supergirl uncover while auditioning for the Legion, and which was seen later in Legion lore?

She uncovered King Arthur's sword, Excalibur, Achilles' helmet and King Richard the Lion-Hearted's shield.

LL got all three of the objects right. Excalibur was indeed taken by from the Musuem of the Mystical Arts (or whatever it was called) by one of Darkseid's servants!
Your question, Scott!

You and Omni are remembering correctly. I still think it was brought on by stress though - with the "asteroid incident" with Brin pushing him over the edge.

I'm sure stress was a major cause for the mental short circuiting Garth experienced, lance! If my wife was found in another guy's arms when they were almost killed and marooned in the middle of nowhere, I'd freak!!!

Hmm... it just occurred to me that Scooter went on vacation without giving us a question!
So, I'm going to open it up to whoever wants to post the next question!

Who were the four other Legionnaires present when Tasmia Mallor was offered "battlefield" membership in the Legion (in the preboot, of course) during the Legion's battle with the Fatal Five?

I'll post one.
During the Levitz Baxter series, there were several issues which contained short backup stories. Only one of these stories featured a Legionnaire fighting any villains. Name that Legionnaire.

Sorry Chaim, but you have to answer my question first before you can post your own! That's how this game works. (Just kidding. Looks like my post just barely beat out yours )

Varalent: Three I know were Superboy, Karate Kid, Brainiac 5. Was the fourth Cosmic Boy (I can't quite recall, and my books are at home in a box while I'm at work ) Chaim: I believe it was Invisible Kid II

Cosmic Boy it was! You are correct on all counts. And I think you are also correct on Chaim's question but I'll let him reply to be sure.
