resolved the SW6 and adult Legion mess? Just curious if any possible solution could have made sense and saved the Legion's 30 years of history and tradition.

I always believed the SW6 batch were brought into the series because the older, maimed Legion wasn't selling very well. Of course, the "creative" team couldn't resist whacking off a bunch of them for its shock value moment.
The best way I could see resolving the issue was to play the Time Trapper card and have one group sent away - either the SW6 back to the past (in a title called Legionnaires) or the adults moved forward in time (to a title called The New Omega Men). And nary would the two ever meet again.

That was Keith Giffen's plan from what I understand in some ways. I remember somewhere mentioned that he wanted the adult Legion to become the Omega Men.

I wouldn't have minded the kids being sent back in time. Their attitudes always felt much more 20th century than 30th century anyway.

I would've still merged the temporal duplicate, but continued the story using the merging like an Ian Karkull energy type excuse to keep the older Legionnaires youthful and vital!

I like your idea, EDE, but would it apply to characters like Computo, etc who didn't have a duplicate?
Some Legionnaires age, others don't?-- could be cool.

I like that new white-out that doesn't get all gummed up and stuff. I need good white-out 'cause I like, make lots of mistakes and stuff.

I like the idea of some merging (and staying youthful) and others going on to becoming something else. I can see Jo, Kent, Kono, and others moving on, while a reconstituted Legion could work on remaking the future.
The only consistent feature of all of your dissatisfying relationships is you.
Don't judge me!
