There's no telekinesis involved because she couldn't affect movement. If we're getting a proper telekinetic I want either Kinetic Lass or Tellus Kid.

My 2 cents. I didn't take Ayla seriously until she got her lightning powers back.
Light Lass? cute.
But under Levitz she dumps Timberwolf and recieves powerful lightning again.
It's sad b/c in DnA's run she was a strong character and I hope she stays that way.
Have enough females with passive powers on the team as well...Dream Girl, Vi, Triad, Projecta, etc. I like the fact that Ayla will fry your butt off.
ohwell.

You need a dose of some Adventure-era Legion Archives to make you giggle.

(And I don't even want to think what Matter-Eater Lad would be made out of.) [/b]I accept Star Boy in the way I accept Cosmic Boy - as essentially spurious names, which you couldn't really apply literally. Shadow Lass controls shadow. "Light" Lass controls density. It would make more sense for someone with that name to contol light.

It seems to me that Light Lass would also fall into the spurious name category. But I accept your argument that it's probably not the best name for someone with her powers.

It doesn't fall under "spurious names" because there's a blatantly obvious use for the name that isn't the one in question.

"Blatantly obvious"? Who says a codename has to hit people over the head with what a character can do? What's wrong with alternate meanings or shades of meaning?
In a way, Waid is already taking this not-so-obvious tack with Micro Lad. The name makes sense from his people's perspective, though it might not, initially, to us. Making readers look at things from a different perspective is usually the hallmark of a good writer.

I agree it would be cooler if they were light based powers.

Density Damsel. I bet if Ayla had called herself that, it would have helped Lu feel a little bit better, that she's not the only one who's not a "Girl" or "Lass." The problem is, Ayla's control over density was only to make it lighter, so there needs to be a qualification. Less Density Lass? Less Lass? This is hard.
