You know, Dirk in Superboy's Legion was so very friendly with his best buddy Gim. I know, I know, it's a sad commentary on the general state of affairs when two heterosexual males who aren't afraid of demostrating fraternal love for their closest friend set off the radar but...well...beep.

Say, did you like the slight modifications Davis made to Dirk's outfit? I sure did!

Sun Boy's traditional design, redone with a surplice front and tails as well as flying collars and a sash, was gorgeous! It stayed true to the original, but the subtle changes were distinct and stuff!!

He could be the spokesman for ApokoLips Gloss - "Put the Fires of Hell in your Kiss".

Fast-Forward almost a year later, and a new SUN BOY is on the horizon.

A (straight) friend of mine recently remarked he was wary of this "new" Legion 'cause he thinks "they're gonna 'gay it up'"...of course he had to do the "not that there's anything wrong with that" bit so I wouldn't drop kick him.

Somewhere out there on the net, there's a fanfic I read that was actually a GREAT Legion story, and one of the aspects of the story was the love affair between the seemingly hetero, studly, Dirk and the sensitive, younger, Jan. I wish I could remember the name of the story, it was like "Through Silent Eyes" or something like that.

Interestingly, in the new GUIDE TO THE DC UNIVERSE hardback, they matter of factly state that Condo Arlik has "Begun a low key relationship with Lyle Norg". Hmmm. I didn't know DC had ever made an "official" statement about the Condo/Lyle relationship. Of course, the Condo bio WAS written by gay boy Phil Jimenez.

I'm sure all you Legion fans already knew all of this, so excuse me if I'm telling you stuff you already know! :-)

Well examining comicbook publicity trends of late, giving the new LoSH a solid gay presence could garner a mainstream media shout-out (New York Times, USA Today, Entertainment Weekly, or maybe just some local daily)...all depends on how the spinners spin.
