In what band was Ian "Lemmy" Kilmister in before joining Motorhead and prior to joining Hawkwind?

The only one I can think of right now is the short-lived Opal Butterfly.

Its not Opal Butterfly. Another member of the band has recorded at least one album of Tabla music under the same name, which is his own name. But when together with Lemmy there was only one album.

OK, if that's the case, then you're possibly thinking of Sam Gopal's Dream a.k.a Laughing Sam's Dice a.k.a L.S.D.

Close enough. The group was just known as Sam Gopal (for at least this one recording) and the album was Escalator. It is the only one that Gopal and Lemmy collaborated on.

Sorry, guys. Business. Had to take the weekend off.
I had a great question, but I've forgotten it, so you're stuck with this one:
Gene Simmons of KISS helped out Van Halen a bit in their early days. But he didn't like their name. What did he want them to change it to?

Wasn't Simmons' suggestion 'Rat Salade'?

Not the one I'm looking for, but if you can recall where you saw that, I'll give it to you.

I don't remember. I know they were going to use Mammoth but that name was already in use (it was the first name they performed under IIRC). Then someone came up with Rat Salade but they went with Roth's suggestion of Van Halen. Simmons may have had another suggestion shot down that I've never heard. Lets give someone else a chance.

You are on the right track.
Not a spider, really, but it walks a bit like one.

Nope. For no other reason than The Scorpions were already around then.
This creature isn't all that dangerous.

OK, it's been over a week and I've finally managed to drive this thread into the ground.
If nobody gets it by this time tomorrow, I'm awarding the win to my favorite answer.

Worm, your honour?
Doesn't walk much like a spider, but it's not very dangerous.
It's not two words either, is it?

"Worm, your honor?" is actually three words, not two.
But I like it, so you win. Sounds like a name some college emo band would come up with.
I was looking for "Daddy Longlegs".

Thanks OM, much appreciated.
Question –
Which actor sang (?) the words “Good morning, Worm, Your Honour” in 1990.
