Well, that would make the band Rush.

And I'll assume this is part of the 2112 piece but I'll be darned if I can remember which section.

Nearly there OM. Which sacred space did they sing about?

Sun Studios?

No, I jest. Not that I know for sure, though. Elysian Fields?

YAY!!!! Numfwing got it, though given that OM fogured the band and album maybe you two should decide between yourselves who asks the next question.

That’ll be Ronnie (James) Dio, previously of Rainbow and Elf, and reputedly a pretty handy trumpet player – could it be Mrs C B Hive in disguise? (Check out the height, heels and hair…….) lol!

Unless, of course they pulled in someone else who didn’t work out first…..
Gawd, you’ve got me all confused now – but Dio’s the obvious choice…..

Damnit, I’m gonna stick to my guns and stay with Ronnie.

Dave Walker replaced Ozzy first. If I recall correctly, Walker was dispatched because Ozzy returned. But the happy reunion didn't last and Ozzy was fired again.

Score one for the Wanderer.

Dave Walker, who sang with Savoy Brown and a pre-Stevie Nicks Fleetwood Mac, was pulled in to replace Ozzy the first time he got the chop. Walker, IIRC, lasted all of one TV appearance.

You're up, HWWtSS.

Walker isn't the only frontman to join an already successful band and not work out. Which bands briefly employed the following lead singers?

1. Jon Sloman

2. Robert Fleischman

3. Michael Rickfors

4. Stef Fontaine

Pretty sure Fleischman was in Journey before Steve Perry joined and Rickfors temporarily replaced Allan Clarke in The Hollies.

I'm going to have to think about the other two.

Sloman and Fontaine were both in Uriah Heep, well after that band's glory days.

I confess I had to look them up.

"...'The massive grey walls of the Temples rise from the heart of every Federation city. I
have always been awed by them, to think that every single facet of every life is regulated
and directed from within! Our books, our music, our work and play are all looked after by
the benevolent wisdom of the priests...'

We've taken care of everything
The words you hear, the songs you sing
The pictures that give pleasure to your eyes
It's one for all and all for one
We work together, common sons
Never need to wonder how or why

We are the Priests of the Temples of Syrinx
Our great computers fill the hallowed halls
We are the Priests, of the Temples of Syrinx
All the gifts of life are held within our walls

Look around at this world we've made
Equality our stock in trade
Come and join the Brotherhood of Man
Oh, what a nice, contented world
Let the banners be unfurled
Hold the Red Star proudly high in hand

We are the Priests of the Temples of Syrinx
Our great computers fill the hallowed halls
We are the Priests, of the Temples of Syrinx
All the gifts of life are held within our walls"

I think the phrase hallowed halls can be translated to mean sacred place.

Disappointed at her escaping from him, Pan cut the reed into pieces of gradually decreasing lengths, fastened them together with wax and thus produced the shepherd's flute, or "pipes of Pan", upon which he plays.

Which venerable space am I talking about and who sang about it?

And no Numf, there's no trumpeters playing on it laugh
i'm still confused, was the river nymph's name syrinx(sp)? I dont see the relation at all.

Probably a dumb question, but I'm having trouble thinking if anything good:

Name the band that once put three songs about Joan of Arc on an album.

Not the one I'm thinking of, but if you know of an LP where they've got a bunch of Joan of Arc songs, I'll give it to you.

Spandau Ballet? They had sort of a medieval motif before they went all MOR romantic.
