Yep. The Rock in Opposition concerts brought together Henry Cow (from England), Samlas Mammas Manna (from Sweden), the Stormy Six (from Italy), Etron Fou Lelouban (from France), and Univers Zero (from Belgium).
Cutler's dream of an international collective of working musicians staging a revolution against the music industry never quite panned out as he anticipated, and the bands had a hell of time trying to agree on what their common goals were supposed to be. And of course RIO became a convenient name for a whole genre of bands and musicians at least vaguely associated with or influenced by the original five.
Your turn, OM!

Once again, I lie.
What do Moby Grape, The Zombies, and Fleetwood Mac have in common?

They all had bogus bands touring under their names.
Moby Grape's name was owned by their manager, Matthew Katz, who organized a fake Grape in 1970, after the real group split.
Several fake Zombies bands toured in the wake of the group's posthumous hit, "Time Of the Season" in 1969. The real group had split in '67.
Fleetwood Mac called off a tour in 1973 when the band was in disarray. Their manager, Clifford Davies, promptly formed a new band to continue under their name, until Mick Fleetwood and John McVie obtained a court injuction to force them off the road.

That was a doozy, OM. My first guess was that they all had members who went nuts (you know, Peter Green, Skip Spence), but none of the Zombies did, so far as I know.
I'll be back tomorrow evening with a new question.

What band was named after a blind piano tuner?

Clue time: The piano tuner wasn't actually a member of the band.

Wasn't the name taken from a key to a warehouse where the band practiced? It wasn't until later that the band found out who the key had previously belonged to.
Oh, the band's name. The Marshall Tucker Band.

Could be. I only found out the origin of the name recently on a TV program. It didn't mention a key.
You're up, Scott.

And I could be confusing bands. But I think that's what I remember reading awhile back.
This should be easy. Who is The Maestro?

He made that claim during his Sun Studios audition, IIRC.
FYI, Malmsteen is currently on the road as part of the "Guitar Gods" tour with George Lynch.
I'll need to woodshed on a question for a bit.

Yeah. Basically he was just trying to make himself sound impressive by boasting that he could play like someone famous. Apparently he was quite unaware of the fact that Chet was a guitarist, not a pianist.
