Wonder if the name appealed to them in part since Gerry's last name is Marsden.
Anyway, I'll need a little time to come up with a question. Hopefully by tonight.

Never thought of it that way. In any case, the Mars Corp. was not amused and ordered them to stop using the name. Perhaps they should have called themselves the Hershey Bars instead.

Right. Question time:
What was Jimmy Page's first appearance on record? As in, you know, vinyl.

All good guesses, but no.
Hint time: He was a member of the group in question (and no, it isn't the Yardbirds).

The group was probably Neil Christian & The Crusaders, which Page joined in 1960 when he was 16. But what the name of the record was, I don't know.

I think he fell ill before he could actually record with them. Wasn't his first recording as a guitarist on The Yardbirds' Little Games?

Page was one of the hottest session gutarists in England during the early/mid-60s. He'd played on scores of records before finally getting bored with the session scene and accepting the Yardbirds offer to join.

I believe it was just the one single, and according to Christian, the producer distorted everything so much you can't tell it's Page.

Originally posted by LABRADORIAN: i didnt know he recorded with them If you're referring to the Yardbirds, Page joined in 1966, initially as a replacement for bassist Paul Samwell-Smith. He then switched to lead guitar when Jeff Beck fell ill. Beck returned and he and Page played twin leads for a couple of months, until Beck was fired (or left). Page was the Yardbirds' lead guitartist until they disbanded in July 1968. He then took the name and formed the New Yardbirds, which became Led Zepplin. Among the Yardbirds' songs Page appeared on: "Happenings 10 Years Time Ago" (1966), "Little Games" and "Ten Little Indians" (both 1967), and "Goodnight Sweet Josephine" (1968).

What do the groups Berlin, the Bay City Rollers and Buffalo Springfield have in common (apart from starting with the same letter)?

I'll take a guess: None of them are actually from the cities mentioned in their name.

In the mid-70s, the VA-based band Happy the Man were nearly hired by what singer to play on his first solo album?
