When you gave the name of the song I knew the band but just didn't know which of the guitarists was the one used. I honestly do not even remember that commercial. Very good obscure trivia. I'll be back in a bit with a new one.

Totally spaced off it was my turn. Sorry.

Who played as a session guitarist on Tom Jones’ 1965 hit “It’s Not Unusual”?

I'm pretty certain you're right, Labby, but maybe you should PM him to get his attention.

I am also certain you're correct, FWIW.

Sorry, you are right Lab. It was Jimmy Page. Everytime I went to check on this thread I got interrupted and pulled somewhere else. If you think you got it right and have others backing it up, go ahead and play on through. Don't wait for this brain-adled poster.

The two bands would be Loverboy and Voices of Classic Rock. He also was the frontman for Roxy. Prior to changing his name to Mike Reno he used his given name, Mike Rynoski.

It's getting REALLY crowded up here at the top of the Mission Monitor Board. I'm going to feature this topic at the top of the Anywhere Machine. Sorry if there's any confusion.

Okay with me. But why are there so many featured topics in MMB anyway? 5 is a bit much. Anything over 3 is too much.

no problem kid prime, i wanted hear anyway

Hey LL
i hope your not getting your answers from a yahoo search laugh
just kidding, well loverboy is , the other band i didnt even know about, did the VOICES OF ROCK put an album out? if not, that answer is invalid only because we count albums. If they did then LL you are correct with loverboy and voices of rock
name is correct also.
however, Roxy is NOT a correct answer. so if voices of rock had no album, the question is still up for grabs.

I doubt he put an album out with Roxy as that was way before Loverboy. As for the Voices of Rock, I'm not sure if the have an album or not. It was something I heard on a bio about Mike Reno around the time their bassist drowned. So if its not the group you are thinking of then I say the question is still up for grabs.

ok
i was talking about the voices of rock when i referred to the band without a record.
Roxy is incorrect,he was never in a band called Roxy(not that i'm an expert)nor do i know a band named roxy(not that it matters) loverboy is correct, and i will give one hint and this is a biggie depending on how you know your music.
Roxy is not the answer but its pretty damn close!

I haven't featured any of them so I couldn't say.

Has anyone talked this much about Mike Reno since 1983?
