I don't have either of those, but it would fall between the two.

The conspiracy continues. Quis get the right answer with Sad Sack. I hadn't read those in maybe 30 years. Nowhere near as funny as Beetle Baily, IMHO. Take it, Quis...

I haven't read one in years either, but I remember liking Sad Sack better than Beetle Bailey. To each his own.
When I was going through my Dad's desk, I was surprized to find:
1) Adoption papers for my father 2) Adoption papers for me 3) A photo of my mom and dad in the nude 4) White supremist literature 5) A hunting knife in a sheath 6) Two joints 7) A purple heart medal 8) A letter from Richard Nixon 9) A membership card for the American Socialist Association 10) Nothing. Everything was as I expected.

Nope, Dad was in the Coast Guard and did get a veteran's disability payment (I think for getting flat feet) o $17.00 a month. But there was no Purple Heart medal in his desk or anywhere.

Novelty has it. I found this huge hunting knife in his desk. When I showed his golfing buddy, the buddy said "Oh yeah he used to have it in his car until we (the golfing foursome) told him that he could get arrested for having that in the car." Later when I was cleaning out his car, I found an old sock filled with steel rods. I assume that replaced the knife.
As for all the other things, they are all made up.

Wow! Quick answers.
Quis: Newcastle isn't in Scotland, it's south of the border in England, so technically that's not it.
Lance's: While many may consider Dumfries to be English, it is in the Scottish lowlands and home of Scotland's national poet, Robert Burns
Rocky: Aberdeen is the "Houston" of Scotland in as far as being the centre of the petroleum industry in Scotland... and you are correct, I've never been there. It was way too remote to just make a trip there. Your go next!

Well, I'd like to go again, but I'm not sure I can afford it what with the weak dollar and all.
