Wales does rock, but neither it nor any of the other countries guessed is the one I wrote about.

Novelty, people are going to start thinking that we are giving each other the answers.

Malaysia is the country I did my report on.

Hmmm... are we wink

Where in Malaysia have I NOT been to?

a. Kuala Lumpur, the federal capital
b. Johor Bahru, on the southern tip of the peninsula
c. Kuching, capital city of the largest state
d. Kota Kinabalu, the easternnmost state capital
e. Melaka/Malacca, recently named a World Heritage site together with Penang
f. Kinabalu National Park, which contains the highest mountain on Borneo, Malaysia and South-East Asia.
g. Genting Highlands, site of the only casino in the country
h. Cameron Highlands, known for its cool mountain air
i. Miri, the oil town
j. Petaling Jaya, a planned city
k. Beaufort, a sleepy little town
l. Shah Alam, capital of the central state of Selangor
m. Bintulu, the second largest producer of LNG in the world
n. Sandakan, known for its "wild east"
o. Bau, so called because of the stench of corpses during WW2 (or so goes some tales)
p. Labuan, pearl of the South China Sea
q. Subang Jaya, the de facto centre for higher education
r. Sapilok, where Orang Utans are rehabilitated
s. Limbang, the logging town

I suspect the place is known as "Bau" because of the number of pig farms there. And the stores there sell stuff that I have seen in museums in other places.

Miri is no longer a town, it's been upgraded to a city a few years prior. It's a boomtown and things are expensive there, but booze is relatively cheap and widely available.

The river that flows through Limbang is more mud than water and the town is otherwise rather unremarkable.

No to all 3. Try again.

Who wants to see a planned city?

Exnihil, I am pretty sure LNG is Liquified Natural Gas.

Bintulu also had a zoo, which I think closed recently or something like that. It was a rather nice zoo as well, will animals not in cages but in walled off areas.

Petaling Jaya has seen some of the largest "out of town" malls recently, with the largest Asian Ikea store, for example.

No to both the above. Guess again.

Beaufort, a sleepy little town.

Hey, maybe it's none of my business, but how is it that you've been all over Malaysia? Just a vacation?

I travel a lot AFOB, and I like to just rent a car and drive smile

And Beaufort may be a sleepy town, but it does have a KFC right in the middle of it. I won't recommend spending a night there though.

Edit: and if that wasn't clear, no, Beaufort isn't the answer. Try again.

Subang Jaya had the former international airport of the main urban area in Malaysia. It also has a number of interesting spots like the Sunway Pyramid. Try again Quis.

Sandakan is where you go for places like Turtle Island and the diving resorts where you can see nature at work. The town itself isn't a nice place though... (it's mainly a timber town).

Genting Highlands has more than just the casino of course. There's a whole theme park and a number of 5-star hotels and spectacular view from the 5-star hotels.

Nope to both. Try again!

Ah, what the hell, let's go with a. Kuala Lumpur, the federal capital, just because it seems so unlikely that you wouldn't have been.

(Every time I read that option, I keep thinking of Jambi the Genie from PeeWee's Playhouse)
