Excellent story. But was does NAP stand for? Or is that classified information?

It is... but as a Legion Worlder, your clearance level is high enough.
Turns out it's not an abbreviation at all. The word "nap" just means "a thin covering" from which the word, "napkin," or the slang, "nappie," are derived. Apparently it's also used in cooking, to describe a thin layer of sauce. "Nap of the earth" describes the blanket-like pattern created by flying at a fixed level from the ground.
Who knew? (Certainly not the guy from the story!)

Wow, Ex! That's quite a story. I am in awe.
My staff at the library have been talking about having a get-together outside of work. What are we going to do?
1. Have a picnic. 2. Go to a local amusement park. 3. Spend a day at the beach. 4. Karaoke. 5. Have a potluck at my house. 6. Go to dinner at a nice restaurant. 7. See a movie together. 8. Go dancing. 9. Bake cookies together. 10. Are you kidding? We need time apart!

2. Go to a local amusement park.
(Well, that's what I'd want to do.)

Good guess, LFR, but, now that AstroWorld has closed, we really don't have an amusement park in Houston.
Actually, Quis has the correct answer. We're planning on doing a karaoke night. Assuming they still have it at this place, my staff will get to hear my rendition of "The Boxer" and some other Simon and Garfunkel songs (that's what I seem to sing best).
Go, Quister!

(Dang it! As a thrill ride aficionado, I knew that, too... I hear the Kemah Boardwalk has a great new(ish) wooden coaster, though.)
We definitely need to have a karaoke night at the next LW meet-up, if only to hear the tuneful song-stylings of Hoppy!

Yeah, I'd like to hear Rocky sing... with and without a choir

I did get her and her husband a Cuisinart Sandwich Grill, but not the Blender. And although everyone does love a George Foreman Grill, it would be a duplicate of the sandwich maker, don't you think?

Drinking? I thought "Double Old Fashioned Glasses" just meant those chained bifocals that librarians used to wear in the 50's. I thought "9 Ounces" was a bit heavy.

I was tempted to get the garment steamer, but I think only my niece would be using it and I wanted to get things for both of them.
