It occurs to me that I probably could have done away with this round and gone straight ahead to the finals, but what the hell.
GATES teleports out of the game with 1 point. While our favorite bug did lose in this round by a large margin, let us not forget that he made it all the way to the 3rd spot. Gates was arguably the most original of the reboot Legionnaires, and he played a key role in many stories (the battle against Mantis, the timeslip to the 50's, the capture of Brainiac 4, vs the Fatal Five on Tenazor-4, the conclusion of the terrorfirming arc) and always had a sarcastic quip for the occasion. He'll be missed.
